Hi Westbury Manor ladies...
FH and I went to see the place last night and we completely fell in love with it!! We spoke to one of the BM and was quoted $120/pp for the regular menu (with no upgrades at all) for June 2007 Saturday wedding wedding. To us it seemed a little bit high. We still want to try to have our reception at WM but that means 1) we need to compromise our guest list to stay within our budget or 2) have it in a off-peak month. We are leaning toward choice 2.
Did you girls talk the price down with WM?? Is it doable? If it is, how did you do it? We are thinking about having it in March or April. Does anyone know if the price drops dramatically?
SOrry for so many questions....I just can't get over how nice the place is!!!

Thanks so much in advance for all your help!!

Marisal

Is that for PM or AM...... AM may be a lot cheaper.

Yeah, I was going to say that- if you have it during the day, you don't have to compromise on the month. Its all about what is more important to you.

AM is a little more than half that price!!! that's why we're doing AM instead of PM for my saturday july wedding

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

By the way - I forgot to mention something in my review. I found out later that there were tip jars left on the bars. I did not notice this that day because I never went up to the bar, but my boss mentioned it to me.

I was told that the service charge covered tips for the bartenders. If my guests wanted to leave something extra for the bartender, the bartender should have taken the money and put it in his pocket, not left it in a jar on the counter. I was a little peeved about this. Anyway-just wanted to make you all aware just in case you didn't know this.

Did you ask for no tip cups? if u did and they were still there ....that is a problem.....for me b/c my FH & I requested that there be no tip cups and not attendants in the bathrooms......I'll have to talk to my BM....

When we called with our final numbers, they suggested $3-$5pp for the Maitre 'D and $50 - $100 for the Bridal Attendant. We will probably do that.

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

that's right..they suggest that much for the maitre'd..I forgot!..I'm sorry but I think $5 /person is a little ridiculous!! for 260 ppl (our minimum) 3$/person is $480. 5$ is 800!!!!

also, when you call with the final number, I know you can't go down after that. But can you tell them anything below your minimum? Your vendors can be included right?

can't believe you're getting married in less than a week!!!

We did $5/person for our Maitre D'...he totally deserved it! We did $125 for our Bridal Attendent...she totally deserved that too. They were both AMAZING!

We were a little below our minimum...vendors & children were included in our final numbers. Being we were below our min we had to pay full price for vendors & children...the discounted rates are only after meeting your min. If you are below speak to your BM...they may be able to work you a deal (like 'throw-ins', etc.) because you do have to pay the min.

I tipped our Matre'D about $4 per person and our bridal attendant $150. Both were amazing and totally worth it. We had Raul and Lupita. Hope this helps Congrats to the girls getting married soon - enjoy every second of the day... it totally FLIES!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

The vendors were discounted, as well as children between 4 and 10 - but we had met our minimum. When you call with final numbers, they give you a break down of how they arrive at the final cost - very helpful, be sure to write it down.

As for tipping, we are going to put the envelopes together, but have extra money on the side if anyone goes above and beyond.

I'm going to WM tonight to drop off my things and pay this bill!

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

hey girls, question.

right now we are, of course at 99 (I shy of our minimum) that is including 4 kids under 10, and 2 under 4, but NOT including vendors.

I am not really sure what do do here. I guess we are fine, but we are definitely out a few hundred dollars...

I am debating asking a few more people...now I am also concerned the Garden Room will look empty.

thoughts? suggestions?

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

thanks..I guess I may have to suck it up...I just think the whole idea of *suggesting* what to tip is crazy

yeah, I think we may possibly be a few shy even with vendors..so call our BM before calling in the final # or after?

I just mailed the BIG payment today

Without vendors we were at 100...it looked and felt perfect for the Garden Room. Don't worry...it won't look empty.
You can either ask a few more people or speak to your BM to see if you can get something in place of the money you're out. With vendors we were only two shy of our min...we were able to get two dinners to take home which we devoured that night at the hotel. Unfortunately we could not get anything in regards to paying full price for children and vendors because they had to count toward our min.

I agree - the Garden Room will NOT look empty w/100 people. It will actually look nice and be very comfortable for your guests.

We had 114 people (with vendors) and honestly, I don't think I would have wanted anymore!Everyone was very comfy and cozy. With 100 people or so, you'll be in even better shape!!! Please don't worry, it will be perfect! That room is gorgeous and will look full - no worries!

I am seriously hoping I don't go much over my 95 minimum.. I want there to be space in the room and for people not to feel claustrophobic..

Re: Westbury Manor-Brides (We decided to make this our official thread)

I am considering only have 9 tables in the Garden Room since we can't do 10 tables of 10...without splitting the guests up in ways they wouldn't be comfortable, and I actually like the way I have my tables set up with 9.

they said they'd do 4 tables by the entrance, and 5 on the other side.

what do you ladies think about that?

that is perfect!! less tables by the entrance is better so people can come in/out of the room more easily. I did this and it worked great! less congestion near the doors is always a good thing!

I am in the Manor Room and want to use a variation of the following CP:

For those girls that were in the Manor Room or are familiar with it, will this CP work or is it too much? Please be honest!
