well tomorrow is my b-day so i told fh i'd rather go out saturday night and do a big dinner then rather than going home after work rushing to get ready and rushing to dinner and dealing with the v-day madness. So he made plans for saturday night for us and tomorrow going to do a little something too.
Anyways i asked FH last night what he wants to do for v-day, just relax home watching movies and fh said 'i'll cook for you' he has NEVER cooked, well twice he grilled something on the bbq which doesnt take much hahahaha...oh yeah and one time he made us grilled cheese sandwiches in the toaster oven, but other than that he doesnt know how. I loved the idea when he told me, and i can see his face after like OMG what did i get myself into...but he said hes going to try his best. I dont care how it comes out, i just LOOOOOVE that he will even do this. I got so happy and excited but i cant wait to see what he'll make and how it'll come out even if its burned ill eat it hahaha
so what are the rest of you ladies doing?

Dinner at Trattoria L'Incontro in Astoria with hubby and the baby.
If you haven't been there already... i highly suggest going. OMG AMAZING. SO GOOD. It's a little pricier (for us) so we usually keep it for a special occasion... but the food is absolutely amazing.
Probably the best Italian place we've been to.
Happy B-day by the way!
Just out of curiousity, how much does Trattoria L'Incontro cost? I LOVE italian food!!
it can be a little more pricey than other italian restaurants...it depends though but a meal for 2 and if you have wine or anything can run close to $200 for both of you maybe less but again it all depends on what you get and what you drink, appetizers before and all that. Without drinks it shouldnt be that mad, but they only serve wine and beer Its so good though and rocco the owner is great. Even my moms clients who live in manhattan on the upper east side or all over the city, come to astoria just to eat there and we've bumped into them there before.
But dont try to go tonight, they'll be booked...ive gone on regular nights and even with reservations you end up waiting...without you cant even get in bc of how booked they get

Tomorrow we are getting together with our best friends (who are married) and the guys are cooking for us ladies. I can't wait!! This should be very interesting watching the guys cook...lol!!

Here's the site to look at the menu (which doesn't give prices) but on the lower end of it, with dinner dessert and a drink.. you're looking at $50/$60 a person.
The food is so worth it though. Definitely make reservations because they are always packed. The wait staff is really friendly.. and very helpful when making decisions regarding food and wine. I LOVE IT.
MUST MUST TRY THE HAZELNUT ICE CREAM DESSERT. I would go there just for that. I could probably eat that the rest of my life and be happy. I kid you not. L'Incontro website

I love when Rocco walks around to see how everyone is doing. Me and my husband totally get star struck. LOL. Last year he spent most of dinner with us because he was playing with the baby. I kept joking that we wouldn't give our son a bath because Rocco touched him. (no worries... he's been washed.)

I can't make any promises. I might leave you a few drops off the to-go container... but I will not be held responsible if it's all eaten by the time it gets to you!

Re: what are everyones plans tonight?
Happy Early Birthday Denise! That's fantastic that FH is cooking! How sweet. We hate dealing with the V day madness so last year we decided to cook and we had a great time. This is an opportunity for me to get FH to watch sappy movies he wouldn't normally watch. Last year, we made dinner and watched The Notebook. This year, we went to Citarella, bought NY Strip Steak and King Crab Legs. I'm picking up a mini red velvet cake from Crumbs and I'm making him watch The Princess Bride! Tomorrow we took the day off and we're going to MOMA and heading down to eat some lobster rolls at Pearl Oyster (no meat tomorrow!)
Have so much fun and let us know about your dinner!!! want to know what he cooks!!

Re: what are everyones plans tonight?
I went to our favorite italian restaurant spot and they have a little store attached. I bought his favorite filet mignon and convinced them to give me their special sauce from the restaurant & I am going to make him a nice romantic dinner. I hope I can pull it off as nice as the restaurant!

Re: what are everyones plans tonight?
Probably not too much...we're so poor from this wedding and paying other bills that we can barely afford life anymore.
We have a gift certificate for the Olive Garden (my favorite place) so we'll be doing that
And I pointed out that stop and shop has a dozen pink tulips on sale for 7.99

HE IS real nice and did a great job...my dad is friends with him and he was glad to see how he pulled off the restaurant.
