what are everyones plans tonight?

well tomorrow is my b-day so i told fh i'd rather go out saturday night and do a big dinner then rather than going home after work rushing to get ready and rushing to dinner and dealing with the v-day madness. So he made plans for saturday night for us and tomorrow going to do a little something too.

Anyways i asked FH last night what he wants to do for v-day, just relax home watching movies and fh said 'i'll cook for you' he has NEVER cooked, well twice he grilled something on the bbq which doesnt take much hahahaha...oh yeah and one time he made us grilled cheese sandwiches in the toaster oven, but other than that he doesnt know how. I loved the idea when he told me, and i can see his face after like OMG what did i get myself into...but he said hes going to try his best. I dont care how it comes out, i just LOOOOOVE that he will even do this. I got so happy and excited but i cant wait to see what he'll make and how it'll come out even if its burned ill eat it hahaha

so what are the rest of you ladies doing?

Dinner at Trattoria L'Incontro in Astoria with hubby and the baby.

If you haven't been there already... i highly suggest going. OMG AMAZING. SO GOOD. It's a little pricier (for us) so we usually keep it for a special occasion... but the food is absolutely amazing.

Probably the best Italian place we've been to.

Happy B-day by the way!


I actually went there a few years back on one of our first dates highly recommended it is awesome

Happy Early Birthday Denise! That's fantastic that FH is cooking! How sweet.
We hate dealing with the V day madness so last year we decided to cook and we had a great time. This is an opportunity for me to get FH to watch sappy movies he wouldn't normally watch. Last year, we made dinner and watched The Notebook.
This year, we went to Citarella, bought NY Strip Steak and King Crab Legs. I'm picking up a mini red velvet cake from Crumbs and I'm making him watch The Princess Bride!
Tomorrow we took the day off and we're going to MOMA and heading down to eat some lobster rolls at Pearl Oyster (no meat tomorrow!)

Have so much fun and let us know about your dinner!!! want to know what he cooks!!


sounds like a perfect v-day and Ooooo i LOVE citarella. When my mom worked in the hamptons it was the best bc citarellas was right next to her and before she'd come home she'd stop off there and always bring home lots of stuff.

I will admit that i am a little nervous hahahaha but i dont care how it comes out but curious lol

here is a little info about it on New york magazine for those who havent been.

Now im in the mood for the bread with their sundried tomato spread YUMMMMM

And they just opened up a wine bar/lounge for guests who have to wait, its in the other room

Nothing...well actually after work I have to go to class till 9pm!! YAH ME! and then go home and since FH is in training he called me at midnight last night on a pay phone he found the poor kid haha to say Happy Valentine's Day. So I am all happy even though I am not going to be doing anything tonight.

but my mom said she would take me for some drinks at my fav resturant in town after class if i want haha

does he know how to cook? whats he making...i dont know but to me to have fh cook is better right now than going out hahahaha...we're going out saturday anyways but this is a once in a lifetime thing


FH is actually a GREAT cook!! (I'm more of a baker then a cook so he does most of the cooking) He's making chicken fajitas. Yum! And two nights ago he made his pinapple/mango salsa that I LOVE to go with it...I like to let it sit a few days.

It's so cute that FH offered to cook for you I hope everything turns out amazing

going to an Italian Restaurant where we will potentially have our RD- figured kill two birds with one stone this is actually our first year together he is either traveling or I was in another state also so it would have been special where ever we would have ended up

He said he'd come over afterward and we could have a late night romantic dinner at the diner but if i get home first I might just pick up some wine and cheese and we'll just stay in and maybe watch lost. We'll probably go out tomorrow night though.

hm... good idea. maybe i'll hit martha's and bring stuff home. the place is usually pretty crowded.

I'm doing absolutely nothing romantic. FH works, so I wont even see him, since he leaves for work as I get home. I'm going to dinner with my mom, brother, sister and grandpa. And then going to the gym with my friend...

FH and I are celebrating together on Monday. We're just going out to dinner.

It's only 10:40 and all this talk about the restaurant and i'm craving pretty much everything on the menu. We should print this up for Rocco to show him all the free press we're giving him... maybe we'll get a hazelnut dessert out of it.

i agree, it's delicious. I sent my sister and BIL there a few months ago and they loved it - she was like we should have your shower here!! I told her don't bother, it's too $$$

FH is home sick with an upper respiratory infection and I have class tonight, so we're not doing anything. We originally wanted to go out tomorrow night since I have class but when I tried making reservations at the melting pot over 3 weeks ago they didn't have anything until Sunday night. So we're going Sunday night for our v-day dinner lol
