Just curious what everyone is planning on calling their in-laws after the wedding...mom/dad? First names? etc...
I'm sticking to first names, but I normally can have a whole conversation with them without ever using their name so it works out lol. I don't know if i could ever call them mom and dad ...those are reserved for my parents

For four years I managed to never call them anything! lol... I'm going to call them mom & dad now.
I call my parents Mommy & Daddy lol

When FH and I got engaged, we talked about this and I said I would like to call his parents Mom and Dad, because that's what my parents did, and I feel like I am part of their family (and they have said they consider me one of their children). But I wanted to make sure his parents were comfortable with it, so I asked him if he would mind talking to them. So the next time his mom calls our house, FH says hold on, let me put you on speaker phone...and then asked her right there on the spot with me sitting there!
I was so embarrassed. I felt like she was put on the spot and probably felt like she had to say yes!

I have always politely referred to them as Mr. and Mrs. So and So. I thought they would tell me to call them something less formal after FH and I got engaged, but they haven't! So I still call them the same thing, if I call them anything at all.

i only recently just started calling them by their first names...before i didn't really call them anything (they also live out of state so i haven't really been around them all that much). i'm going to stick with that.
i also call my stepdad by his first name to his face and he's been in my family for 12 years...i call my mom and him collectively 'my parents'. i actually would like to start calling him dad, but i think that might weird my sisters out.
