at my church.. i cant use rice, rose petals, and i dont want bird seed.. i was also thinking that i dont want bubbles.. b/c they really dont show up that well in pics.. what are you girls using???

We are using 'wedding rice'. It is water soluble and doesn't roll if you step on it(prevents slip and falls). It is heart shaped and has a slight vanilla scent to it.

we used the fake rice that melts, its actually in the shape of little hearts, they were so cute. I'm guessing you may not be allowed to throw that either...so maybe try doing a dove release? My sister did that for her wedding, her and her husband held a bird each in their hands, and me (the MOH) and the best man released a basket of doves the same time they release theirs. It made for a great picture moment.

our church is allowing petals , there is a rice you can buy at michales and ACmoore that melts as soon as water hits it an its very light so alot of it will blow away........maybe your church will let you use that since its not real rice?? Its heart shapped too...its called wedding rice.
otherwise look into the dove or butterfly releases

I have seen people pass out little bells that the guests can ring when the bride and groom exit the church. You can also attach a cute little poem to them (some come with a poem). I think it is supposed to be used when they want you to kiss rather than clinking on the glasses, but people sometimes pass them out at church.

Our Church didn't flat out say you can't use anything, but they charge a clean up fee of $75. It's alot of money,but I have had my heart set on roses for a while, so I am just doing it.

I was going to do petals but my mom and my sister found bells at a dollar store and I love the idea! We are having a church wedding and it really will make me feel the atmosphere I think. Plus I'm hoping they'll make it to the reception (we'll have a few on the table too I'm sure) and they can use those instead of glasses and silverware for prompting any kisses!

We are either having bubbles or ribbon wands. Our church won't let us throw rice or petals
