Everyone will know who the bride is .. If you dont have the time i guess you really dont have a choice .. And do you think your mom would wear white to her daughters wedding ...

Yeah I know they'll know who the bride is, I just thought she wasn't suppose to wear white...even though its ivory it looks like white. And your right I guess I don't have much of a choice I just wanted opinions.

Ivory, white, diamond white... they are all wedding dress colors!! There is no reason why another dress cannot be found in 3 weeks. I would tell her that it is NOT ok to wear ivory!!

Honest opinion--your mother has some issues with this wedding! Ivory is a wedding dress color, and she even wants to wear a lacy dress with a train! Sounds to me as if your mom isn't comfortable letting someone else be the center of attention, it looks like she wants to be the 'second bride.' Wants to have everyone saying 'Oh is this *your* wedding' in an arch fashion. Blech. I would squash that NOW, and keep an eye on her. I'm sorry to be harsh about your mom, but that's a sneaky trick, and one that I've heard of before on Etiquette Hell. It never worked out well. Your mom can get the dress in a nice pink or blue or even champagne, as long as it isn't 'ivory.'

i think its a very pretty dress that can be flattering on almost anyone...BUT--I wouldn't be happy with my mother wearing white on my wedding day.

I have seen a few MOB or MOG dresses that sweep the floor and I think thats okay, but not in white or ivory!!!! Good Luck

Nice dress, but it's definitely not appropriate for your mom (or anyone else for that matter) to be wearing ivory or white - she is NOT the bride!

If she insists on wearing the dress, I'd insist on it being in a different color.

The only person wearing white should be the bride, I agree. If the color was champagne then I wouldn't mind, but white yes.

Yeah... I don't know about this - if it looks white on here, it will look white in the pics - and in pics with you, you will both be wearing white and lace... Its up to you, its your wedding, and your pics that will be in your album - but my opinion, like many others here, is that its just not appropriate... out of every color in the rainbow, why ivory?

Personally, I wouldn't care. No one is going to be mixing up me and my mother no matter what she's wearing. Everyone will know you're the bride!

I have to agree with everyone on this one..
Your mother shouldn't be wearing white, only the bride should!
White or Ivory, doesn't matter. The dress is really beautiful, but your mom should definitely pick a color. JMO!

Honestly, that dress is really an 'informal' wedding dress. What gives it away: the lace and the sweep train.

I have seen those dresses advertised for 'informal' weddings, 2nd marriages, brides in their 'prime', etc...

I wouldn't relish the idea of my mom or MIL wearing that dress but what can you do about it now? No extra stress needed!!

You are going to steal the show anyway cause you're THE BRIDE! and everyone will just talk about how stupid she was for wearing that color.
