I feel stupid posting this, but I cannot pick a good iron to save my life! They always break or fall apart. What are some good choices?

Does the steamer work as well as the iron?

i registered for the steamer at macys- its pretty good for doing a pleasted skirt or gown, but you need a good iron. i registered for the cordless one at target - it got some good reviews and being a lefty, a cordless iron is exactly what i need.
rowenta is an awesome iron... and definitiely go for the extra bucks and get the auto-shut off... itried to save money when i bought ours and now i get in trouble for leaving the iron on!!

I just bought a rowenta steaming iron (sorry cannot be more specific) from Target for myself. I love it. Only thing I found is that its much much heavier than I am used it. But performance wise its great. I love the auto-shut off feature. And yes, I am glad I spent a few extra dollars for a Rowenta.

LOVE my iron! My mom loved it too, she used it to iron my dress while she was making it...if it's good enough for silk satin, imagine what it does to regular clothes!
