I think for the most part we are talking about vendors who pose as brides to recommend their services. You can usually tell who they are because they have very few posts, most of which they are talking about this great company they heard of or used

I personally don't care if someone on here isn't engaged or planning a wedding and they are just looking for advice or something or planning early. I mean, I've asked alot of stuff about being MOH for my sister.

ITA with TheLadyJ!!!

I consider a fake bride vendors, who pose as brides to get info.

Those who are on this website who have not gotten engaged yet, but know that it is on it's way, I wouldn't consider them a fake bride. They are just trying to get a jump start on things, which I find admirable, and I am willing to help them as much as I can.

ITA with this. When I first joined, FH and i were unofficially engaged. We knew it would happen, just hadn't yet, so I wanted an idea of what we were getting into with this. I don't see why there is an issue with girls who arent engaged yet being on the board, and LIweddings is recognizing that, they have the board for those who arent engaged yet now, which I think is great!

I am not, nor do I have any share holdings in any of the following companies:

Patken Photography
After Hours Entertainment

Above and Beyond Long Island

For crying out loud...I've been on MFW and NY1!!

Re: What is a fake bride

I think a fake bride can be two things

1. A vendor creating an account to post a review of their business.

2. Someone who feels the need to join a wedding site with no concrete plans to be married. And I'm NOT talking about girls who weren't engaged before they started posting. Every relationship is different you don't need an engagement ring to be engaged... you just need the commitment from each other.
The fake brides I'm talking about are the ones that never post any useful information.
Example: Someone asks how much was your flower quote and what did it include:
Most people answer with the price they were quoted and the amount of flowers they are getting... usually it will include which vendor they went to. But when I see a response like ... oh I'm hoping to pay like 1k for all but I really don't know. That will tip me off.
After a few times with the same vague answers you start to realize this person is fake and obvi just needs attention.
Also when someone always asks how much something cost and whatnot but NEVER posts anything they actually bought.
Also when girls don't take the time to actually write a FM. I know we are all busy.... but would it kill you to look at someone's name before you FMed them? And not just write.... 'who' in the subject and then the message is 'u use for makeup'
No Hi? No thanks? ***?

LOL! Sorry girls this became a mini vent about fake brides!

I completely agree.... and whats worst is when you spend time and energy helping them and telling them your vendors to find out that they were just fake and you were wasting your time
