Same! I have come to realize that if I keep take trying to make everyone happy, in the end it will not be mine a FH's wedding, it'll be a everyone else's.
Still working on the putting my foot down, but getting better at it. I just hope I'll be able to go back to my old self after this is over and not turn into a daughterinlawzilla because of it.

Don't try to 'keep up with the Jones'' Basically when I first started planning I thought I was doing everything 'wrong' because I was doing things differently from people here. I started to feel bad about my wedding but I'm over that now. Don't forget about your identity and personality as a couple- that is what has to shine through at your wedding!

I learned how to deal with FH when he says things like 'Do we really need a DJ, can't we just make a playlist on the ipod?'

just remember that you are getting married to the man you love. its about the actual wedding ceremony and what that means. at the end of the day your guests will not care if the linens were not all 3 inches off the ground, or if there were only 5 votives on the table instead of 6. they wont know that the roses are suppose to be red instead of purple, or that the cake was vanilla and not chocolate.
if you think of it as just a party, and not put so much pressure to make everything 'perfect' then things will fall nicely into place and you will have a wonderful day
Yes to us these may seem like huge mistakes, but in my eyes it will never be enough to let it ruin my day, the day that I marry my best friend, and get to celebrate in front of all my family and friends.

I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with that without freaking out on him!! They just don't get it! He said yesterday that we don't need centerpieces! He also originally didn't think we needed a videographer....

To just do what I want. I'm going to piss someone off anyway so I might as well get me way.

Go with your gut and try not to be influenced by so many people. This is a day you will remember forever so just make sure its about you and your FH...not anyone else.
We made all decisions ourselves (we also paid the bill ouselves..) so no one knew what to expect...
at the end of the day, everyone had a fantastic time and DH and I know that it was our way and was about US!

-No one will notice the little things that go wrong unless you point it out -not to sweat the small stuff -there is no way on EARTH you can please everyone -to not lose focus on whats important, the actual marriage

Same here: you definitely cannot please everyone during this process. There is always going to be someone who doesn't agree with a choice you are making involving the wedding but honestly, you can only go so far to please people. At the end of the day, if you are FH are happy with your decisions, that's all that should matter.

- trust your own decisions and don't ask other people for their opinions unless you really want to hear it
- keep the bridal party small so that no one drives you insane :)

Don't do things just for the sake of doing them, but also don't not do things just for the sake of not doing them.
Here's an example of each way:
I was soooo opposed to not getting married in a Church just because I was feeling 'rebellious.' However, three months before the wedding I panicked and realized that I really did want to get married in a Church.Thank GOD we were able to find one that would take us...but had I not been so stubborn and anti everything beforehand, this would not have happened.
Another example: I did not want flowers. People kept asking me why and what kinds of flowers. I stood my ground, had not one flower at the wedding, and had beautiful alternatives instead.

My biggest lesson was that it's what DH and I wanted- not anyone else... like you said you can't please everyone.
