What is the 'grossest' food you eat?

what exactly is tripe? Sorry to sound ignorant...is it intestine? Or am i thinking of something else?

Tripe is cow stomach. It smells like dirty socks when you cook it - blech!

I refuse to eat calimari. Even the rings.
And I won't eat fish if it's served with the head on it.
Oh and fried eggs with runny whites make me puke. My eggs have to be fully cooked.

Gross things that I eat - not much! Although my dad thinks it's gross that I put mayo on my salami sandwich

OOOOOH the uncooked eggs is a good one! I HATE HATE HATE that. Ugh..so gross. I cook my eggs/omelet till its golden brown. When I see people eat runny eggs I silently gag.

So much that there will be a 'tripe' station at my Cocktail Hour!!!!!!!

ugh, me too . . . FH loves his meat med. rare and eggs soft and it kills me- I have gotten used to it, but could never eat that way myself

I think I have a hard time eating things that are in a recognizable form of what they were before- does that make sense?

yes--DH has issues with that. He likes ground beef, b/c it doesn't look like a cow.
He doesn't like shellfish , b/c he can picture it swimminga around & can't even look at the fish with the head on it. Ckicken is ok, but he wa salitle grossed when we made a whole one ourselves.

PS- I LOVE runny eggs!

For some reason (and this is a really common thing), I can't stand Eggs and ketchup. I just can't do it and think it's gross!!

Ugh...same here. I'm not sure why.

I can't eat anything 'on the bone'. It really grosses me out. I'll eat chicken cutlets or a filet of steak but if its on the bone I can't touch it.

I don't think I eat anything that is too gross. I do love escargot though!!!

really? wow. I didnt' think msot halls woudl even make that.

my unle was HUGe & went to a nutrionist who asked him his 3 favorite & least favorite foods to take into accoutn when she helped him prepare ameal plan. He LOVES food. Couldn't come up with anything he didn't like. . .except tripe! And then my grandmother says. . oh that's because you never had it the way my mother made it. . . crazy Italians!

my cuz got married at the same hall I am..When my father noticed tripe at his cocktail hour,,he was in his glories....the night we went to book my hall, he couldnt wait to ask the BM about the tripe,,,they of course said no problem..I tried to talk him out of it,,but he said,,'I'm a pay..I getta my tripe' (italian accent)

I am getting better at this- I can now actually eat meat that is cut from the bone as long as it wasn't the part that was touching it. I can eat chicken breast that is torn away from the bone and steack that is trimmed off. There was a time I couln't do that.

Another thing I am famous for is if I am eating bacon that is not cooked to an absolute crisp, I peel the meat off of the fat and eat it that way- no can do fat and grizzle.


I HATE when people suck the meat completely off the bone or like to eat the fat on meat . . . or the skin

oooh I agree with the 'any meat on the bone'...can not do that...ugh!!! makes me gag thniking about it...and the runny egg thing also...FH loves sunny side up egss and dunking his toast into the yolk...I can't eat with him when he's eating that...

the grossest food i ate is

Liver (yuk)

pickles( too sour for me)


tofu( has no taste to it)


mustard( gross)

It's not common around here, but in Pennsylvania and Delaware it's a regular breakfast meat in diners with the bacon and sausage.

And before you ask...it's pretty much what it sounds like. Scraps of pig parts - boiled, ground leftover pig scraps with cornmeal and spices thrown in.

It sounds gross, but it is sooooo yummy. I have to have it whenever I visit my parents!!

I can eat vinegar or ketchup on almost anything! I am really not picky at all. The only food I dont like is.....ham believe it or not!

ham is one of the few things that I absolutely cannot stand. I always leave FMIL's house on Xmas starving. I can't eat any sort of deli ham either...yuck!
