What is the most you would spend on flowers?? repost 07 board

Hello Girls~
I was just wondering if I went overboard with my flowers.. I think Fh might flip when he sees the bill... please let me know what the maximum amount is that you would spend on your flowers including house, church, hall and boq's....

Me too... i was hoping to keep it at about a $1000 considering my hall does my centerpieces... maybe i am living in a dream world? i only want flowers for the bridal party, a few for the church... and nice corsages for important guests...we'll see!

I plan to stay at 2k or less. I am getting married outside in a garden at the North Ritz. Hence no need for extra flowers. NRC decorates the gazebo and does the aisle pillars with flowers for a mere $200. That leaves just the bouquets, boutiniers and centerpieces.

Anywhere costing between $4000.00- 6000.00 is crazy. Thats way to much to spend on flowers. I thought my sister spent alot of money for flowers on her wedding. She spent around $2,000, I am not sure how much my other sister spent. I am only going no higher than $1500, thats all FH and I can afford.

I am not doing flowers in the church to cut cost.

I think we need to reserve judgement on what and how people choose to spend their money. Ive said it before and I'll say it again. If you have to go into hock to pay for anything, then you can't afford it - that includes putting things on credit cards and taking a lifetime to pay them off. But if the money is there for you to spend whether it is yours or it is gifted to you then NO amount of money is too much or too little to spend on anything including flowers. We all come from different socio-economic backgrounds. What is a lot for some, is not for others and vice versa. Bottom line, people do what they can do.

I think 5-6 thousand seems like a lot. I am hoping to keep costs under 1,500. Flowers aren't a huge priority to me bc they die and go in the garbage. Even spending 1,500 seems crazy but I think thats what it will cost.

It's also hard to compare other people's price ranges because people have different sized guest lists and bridal parties.

Things such as number of tables and number of bridesmaids significantly change the amount you spend on flowers.

This is an area that a lot of people choose to save on, especially with centerpieces. It's also an area that's really important to some people. My mom's one request has been floral centerpieces so I went searching for a reasonable price per centerpiece.

I would say spend what you can afford, you can definately get beautiful flowers at an affordable price.

We had a very large wedding, and paid 3k for the following:

Florist decorated the Chuppah (it was GORGEOUS)
My Bo-k, 2 BM bo-k, 2 MOH bo-k
8 corsages
16 boutiners
25 centerpieces
2 huge arrangements next to the sweetheart table
flowers for my cake
extra flowers for the sweetheart table
rose petals for cake table and sweetheart table

My flowers were amazing!!!!
