What is the most you would spend on flowers?? repost 07 board

Hello Girls~
I was just wondering if I went overboard with my flowers.. I think Fh might flip when he sees the bill... please let me know what the maximum amount is that you would spend on your flowers including house, church, hall and boq's....

I think we need to reserve judgement on what and how people choose to spend their money. Ive said it before and I'll say it again. If you have to go into hock to pay for anything, then you can't afford it - that includes putting things on credit cards and taking a lifetime to pay them off. But if the money is there for you to spend whether it is yours or it is gifted to you then NO amount of money is too much or too little to spend on anything including flowers. We all come from different socio-economic backgrounds. What is a lot for some, is not for others and vice versa. Bottom line, people do what they can do.

I spent $6K on flowers. If I had the money - i would have spent more though - but that is only because i'm a total flower freak

I spent 3K about - a little more than I wanted. I think that if you have the $$$, flowers really set the mood. I wish I could have spent more

holy moly.. you girls are scaring me w/ flower prices..i chose my florist already but we haven't talked about prices yet.. i'm very very nervous b/c i have alot of tables big bp and alot of people to give crosages to..

My budget was $1500, didn't want to spend a max of $2,000, florist came in at $1,200 - couldn't be happier!

i would say around 7 would be the most... maybe 8 if i was in a crazy mood but my FH would be upset with me afterwards lol

i actually ended up spending $5,000 (FH was happy and relieved)... but it is definitely true what one bride wrote about how it depends on how many tables you have, BP members, etc.
I have over 20 tables so obviously I need over 20 CPs which is what made it really pricey. And different things are important to different people-- some people love music so a good DJ/Band is important, for me-- I just love flowers and b/c I had to have so many tables I didn't want to have to cut how many flowers I had in each CP.
Also, the main room at my hall is very simple and elegant so I felt the flowers were going to be a way to really make it warm and that was my way of decorating.

I'm so excited to see my flowers!!

I responded on the 07 boards but I would say the size of your BP, how many cps you need and hig ones vs low ones all determine a price.

I would allocate about $2500 - $3500 for quality flowers

Im doing less than $500, I cant justify spending tons of $$ for something thats going to die.

Im doing just bo-ks . Centerpieces will be candles and the men don't seem to mind getting flowers pinned on them :)

Im officially the cheapest woman ever.

Wow, I'm blown away by these numbers. We're spending less than 1k. I'm getting the following-bouquet, 4 corsages, 4 buttonierres, wedding arch with flowers, and some small arrangements for signature table and cake table. I bought really nice beaded hanging candle stands off of e-bay for my centerpieces that we're just decorating with rose petals. I also lucked out that the florist supplies the flowers every week for my restaurant anyway so he said he'd make sure they just match my colors.

I think it depends on how you split your budget, too. I spent SO MUCH $$ on my invites because that was important to me, so to some brides flowers are really important and to other's not so important. The budget calculator I used said 10% of your budget for flowers.

My flower budget was under $1K. I was willing to go up to $1200.

I think $6K is huge, but for me. My gf spent $6K but she comes from money so I was shocked but I understood. But, though I like flowers, I can't justify FOR MYSELF spending that much money on something that will die in a matter of days. I also think it helps that I picked someplace with a fabulous garden.
