What is the next vendor you want to book?

So since this was a vendor topic and I sorta took it off the rails (my apologies) some questions: Looking for a photographer and videographer that isn't super expensive - any ideas? I have a photographer in mind but she works alone does anyone else have a set up like that, where the photos and video are separate companies?

I booked photo and video seperate. We initially met with the video company for photo but went with Lighthouse instead. When we decided we wanted video, we went back to Capture the Moment and she was so cool about it and didn't take offense at all. We just liked lighthouse's style a little better. The majority of her business is video. Most video companies get it.

ETA: I also made sure they've worked together before. You want them to be able to communicate and enjoy working together, otherwise theres a chance they'll be bumping elbows and getting in each other's way which you don't want.

I am booked with Capture The Moment for both photo and video. I loved her work and I clicked with her right away! And her prices are affordable!

I got mine from the Wedding Company in Manhasset. They were soooo pretty but they were expensive.

We actually used a minute man press in lynbrook! My FMIL knew the guy who worked there and he let us pick our font, wording, and printed them for us for REALLY cheap! They came out so amazing! also wedding paper divas is good and has sales a lot, best of luck!

Photographer for me! We just booked our venue, but photos are so important to me and I want to make the right choice. We have a meeting with Lotus next week, and hopefully Patken the week after that.

Did anyone do DIY centerpieces or everyone used a vendor for those? I hear mixed things about being able to save some money by DIY centerpieces

Our centerpieces were relatively cheap and I don't think DIY would have saved me any $

With DIY you either have to go with silk flowers or be putting together centerpieces the day before your wedding. It's just A LOT more stress on you to make sure the venue is going to set them up the way you want and won't mess anything up. if you're doing non-floral or minimal flower centerpieces, then I think it could definitely be done. But it's nice to be able to hand 98% of the stress off to the florist and let them deal with it all. Silk flowers can be just as expensive as real flowers too, so just keep that in mind.

Re: What is the next vendor you want to book?

Most places do half price for kids or free if they are not going to eat. My venue I know does half price we have three kids coming but two of them barely eat

I do not know how cheap you want to go for engagement invitations but I used this site and just needed cardstock, they have great designs: http://printableinvitationkits.com/cute-couple-illustration-wedding-invitation-template/

I don't really like flowers as centerpieces because its a shame. I feel like people spend a ton of money on beautiful extravagant centerpieces and then what do you do with all those bundles of flowers after the wedding is over? I'd be too focused on my honeymoon and everything else going on.
I was thinking of doing my own centerpieces because they are simple they mostly required vases and stuff you can find locally sand, shells, candles - I found the ideas on pinterest and felt like I could always reuse the stuff im making somewhere in our home vs bundles of flowers that will die and get tossed out.
