What made you pick the place you are going to on your honeymoon?

We are going to Jamaica because it has alot of nightlife, the flight isn't too long, there are alot of activities, the price is right and it was all inclusive.

The flight length was the main factor...

We are going to Disney! Even better FFIL is paying for it!
What made us decide is that :
1.We both have never been
2.FI dosen't really do the swiming thing so any where tropical was kinda out.

we went to Costa Rica because we wanted to go somewhere unique to us, not too far away and not too expensive. We also wanted something more adventurous than just a beach.

We've done the Caribbean and Hawaii before. And we avoided Europe because DH's family is there and we would have had to visit them if we were anywhere in Europe (which I didn't want to do on my honeymoon). Besides we've been to a lot of Europe already too.

Its was a toss up between Costa Rica, Belize and Australia. We eliminated Australia because of distance and $$ (but we're planning a trip there next year) and Belize because they were hit hard in a hurricane at the time we were planning.

Oh, Karen's post reminded me Tahiti and Bali were in the running too! But we didn't want to fly so far...

we wanted a true 'once in a lifetime trip'.

i've been on 4 cruises, all through the caribbean, so that eliminated that (plus it's hurricane season). we're headed to tahiti for 2 nights in tahiti and then a 10 day cruise!! never again will we have time to take a 14-hour flight and be away from work for 2+ weeks!!!

I'm a hurricane bride too...'Did we just give ourselves a new classification???' Uggghhh I hope none of us really become one We are taking our chances. Going to Anguilla. We were looking for a place that there was nothing to do besides lay on the beach and in our room... We didn't want to feel guilty about sightseeing.

We wanted to avoid hurricanes so the Carribean was out, rainy season in Central America, we've been to Mexico. We wanted beaches, to be far from the U.S. and since we've got 2+ weeks we thought we might want to go far. Besides, we'll never spend the kind of money we're spending to travel like this again I don't think. We usually backpack when we travel!

We were originally looking at Tahiti/Bora Bora, but it's $$$$ for what we wanted. Then we were looking at the Cook Islands and Tonga, they didn't really have any honeymoon resorts where we could get a deal on luxurylink.com (luxury resorts that are very well known auctioned off!)

So, it's off to the Cousteau resort in Fiji, then we're winging it for a week and taking small boats to outer islands:)

We are flying to California, taking a 4 day cruise out of L.A., then spending time in LA, driving to San Fransisco, and staying there for a few days.

Someone on these boards (can't remeber who, but thanks!!) took this trip, and it sounded great.
FH hates the beach, this was the only one of 1000 hm ideas that he got excited about!

Wow I think I'm the only one doing something like this.. Neither one of us likes the sun or swimming or sand so we're considering going to a nice little cozy place in Maine. More convenient too, since we can't even get a full week off from work for a honeymoon. I'm looking forward to someplace quiet

we've never been on a vacation alone together so we wanted someplace exotic and unique.

we have a wedding, two receptions, and tons of wedding related events all over the country in a span of a couple weeks. so we wanted somewhere we could just forget everything and chill after all the excitement.

so we chose Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora. no better place for everything we wanted

We picked it b/c it is beautiful and we knew this was a once in alifetime trip. Our cheaper choice would have been Aruba but we've already been there and we wanted something different
