My bestfriend, who would have been my MOH passed away suddenly in November. This was someone that I spoke to just about everyday. I was closer with her than with my own sisters. Needless to say that her passing has been very difficult to accept and deal with. Anyways, her DH just sent me her wedding gown. The dress itself isn't in the best condition, not to mention that she got married in 89. I did tell him that I wasn't planning on wearing because I already bought my dress but that I did want to use it in some way, the material that is. The dress has a lot of lace and beading and I'm looking for ways to use the fabric so that I can have that part of her there with me on my wedding day. I truly am lost without her and just need to find ways to remember her on that day without it being upsetting. Any suggestions??? TIA

My heart is breaking for you right now. I am so sorry for your loss. Maybe you could make like a little wrap or ballero jacket out of the lace. You could also use it as a cloth under a memory candle of some sort. Maybe you can even have them incorporate it into your own dress as a sort of embellishment. I really am so sorry.

OMG I am so sorry for your loss!
You could do a few things with the material, your ring bearer pillow, your veil, if it doesn't go with yours you could have the lace worked into your crinolin? you could use some of it to wrap your bo-k, you could wrap your card box or have your pocket book made out of the material.

All of the ideas are amazing , thanks again. I started off with not knowing what to do and now I have a list of things that I need to narrow down. I figured whatever I decide on will only be odbvious to me and to those few people that I tell because her a lot of our close friends and her hubby will be there and I don't want anyone to be too sad. It's going to be so hard to see him there and not her If you think I'm lost without her you can forget about him, it's soooo sad.

Oh...there are so many wonderful ways to incorporate her gown into yours!
You can use the lace to make sleeves....or you can use the material to make an accessory (clutch as someone already suggested, or GLOVES....depending on what season your wedding is....)
If none of those ideas work, how about taking part of it ans sewiing it into the lining of your dress? THat way, she will be there with you the entire time!

I am so sorry to hear about your BF.. it's terrible..
I think it's sweet that her DH sent you her gown for sentimental purposes..
I would suggest wrapping your bo-k with her dress, or sewing a piece of her dress inside your gown so that she will be with you always..
