What to throw after church? Rice or rose petals?

My church allows both rose petals and environmentally safe rice to be thrown after the ceremony. Which do you prefer? Please vote, thanks!

Not sure how these old posts keep getting bumped up... but while it's here...

My church doesn't allow rice, and one of the reasons is that they think it's in poor taste to throw rice when there are so many people starving in the world.

Just one more thing to think about... (And trust me, I'm not one to turn everything into a political statement at all... I just thought this was a good thing to think about)

Personally, I like the look of rose petals better. Also, rice is a symbol of fertility... not something I personally want to emphasize at our wedding!

Be careful the rose petals can run and mess up all the dresses. I rather give the birds something to eat.

ROSE pedals!!!!!
Its a must!!!
and it makes a very pretty picture!!
I would flip if I had rice in my hair!!!!

My church didnt let me but I did it anyway

We threw the Wedding rice....those heart shaped pellets!! DONT use them....they melt and got stock in spots i wouldnt ever thought of! Also melted in my hair!

id go w/ the rose petals (my church didnt allow it)
