What was the worst excuse

any one gave you for not coming to any of your events like e-party? Shower? B-party? Wedding?


The worst one I got was from a woman who said to me - 'Sorry I missed your shower, I had to do laundry'

OMG Laundry ...that is BAD!!

So far...because another person invited (her daughter) isn't going and
that was her ride...OH PLEEEEZE

One of my friends from work is going to his friend's bbq instead of my wedding. I had two people say no b/c other people had made them feel so guilty about skipping their parties. So I guess I didn't make people feel guilty enough to come to my wedding.

FH friend's fiance didn't show to eparty. He said: 'I dropped a can of paint on her foot'


ETA: Why didn't she just RSVP that she wasn't coming?

My sister can't make it because she's been having labor contractions and is on ordered bed-rest. The nerve! Just kidding...that's a good excuse!

Why? Is there a cover charge at the door? She should be there...regardless if she has a gift or not. I'm sure I'll have atleast one friend who will be empty-handed and that's AOK with me. Not everyone has money to blow (including myself!)

I could see if it was the olymipics but T-ball, anyone over the age of 12 can coach T-ball.

Thank you. That is what FI and I both said. This is FMIL's sister. FMIL babysits her three kids all week and brings them wherever they have to go and she could not make an effort to come to my shower. Actually, FI's whole family could not make an effort. Most of them did not want to drive to Brooklyn for my shower. I had 60 people at my shower and there were only 7 people from FI's side.

This is funny..one of my husband's cousins came to my shower from OOT. She brought with her, her future DIL who was engaged also. When she was introduced to me, it was like here's another bride-to-be! I didn't even know her. And, she left within a 1/2 hour after I arrived stating she had to work. This was a Sunday after Thanksgiving and she works for a bank. I thought that was pretty weird and I said so. My MIL stated that she was really important at the bank and has a high up job.

This is funny now, but it really ticked me off then. Maybe I was too sensitive.

I think I have the best one. My shower is this weekend my FBIL's fiance isn't going to be coming. In and of itself, that's pretty ******, but she and I are NOT friends and I certainly won't miss her. Her excuse was actually pretty good. She said she was going to be in Europe and her flight was getting back the day of my shower. She was supposed to be leaving for Europe last Monday and wouldn't be back until the day of my shower, which is this Saturday. Well as it turns out, my FH saw her this past weekend dropping off FBIL for a bachelor party. She completely lied! She's not in Europe, she was just trying to get out of going to my shower. She's such a beyotch!!!

Why such an involved lie? Couldn't she have come up with something simpler? That is so bad!

ETS: I forgot to add my own. My FH's great uncle will not be attending because most of my FH's family lives in FL and someone needs to watch the dogs.
