What went wrong at your wedding? Was it funny, disastrous, or a little bit of both?
At my wedding: -DH's yarmulke fell off when he kissed me during the ceremony
-DH took three tries before he broke the glass
-My veil went on fire (luckily Barron's must make fire retardant veils, since it just melted a little bit in a few places. I am so relieved that it did not ignite, since that would have been horrible, especially with how much hairspray was in my hair!)

Re: What went wrong?
1) My uncle had what everyone thought was a heart attack and ambulances had to come
2) My dad had a problem with my gay friends showing affection and insulted them. They stormed out and I cried out of embarassment.
3) I dropped a shot of jack Daniels in my eyes in front of DH's family (This one was actually hilarious, I didnt know there was liquor in a BLACK shot glass)

Re: What went wrong?
i was a bridesmaid at my bestfriend's wedding 2 weeks ago, and one thing that had gone wrong was the Unity Candle. The two mothers went up to light the 2 separate ones, but then all of sudden they also began to light the Unity by mistake! I was sitting there, like 'What the hell? You two aren't getting United!' lol. The Pastor had to go over and stop them. They immediately blew it out. And THEN when the couple went over and finished that portion of the ceremony, the single smaller candles kept falling over. Luckily the groom had blown the fire out of those, or I dunno how that woulda turned out.
No wonder I opted for the Unity SAND ceremony instead. hehe.

here's what went wrong at mine. You might want to get comfy, this could be long:
my videographer didn't show up and no one noticed. My photographer asked my DOC if there is supposed to be a videographer and that's when we realized he should have been at the RH. He missed all of my getting ready shots at the hotel, so there is no video of that, luckily he didn't miss the ceremony. .
I had a similar issue with our videographer, no footage of me getting ready at home, but it was DHs fault. He was in charge of 2 things, the 2nd photographer and videographer and neither showed up at my house before the ceremony, DH didn't think I wanted it. What an arse! I seriously give him that exact look EVERYTIME I think of it. Not to mention the earful he got the day of when I asked where the hell the videographer was!
My CP well it was missing hanging votive candles and crystals so that really upset me because I wanted to create a candlelit feel in our room at the RH and that didn't happen. The florist blames the RH for not letting them complete there job because of timing and the RH blames the florist because it in end it was there responsibility.
Our limo driver hit traffic on the way my house on the Southern State so he was convinced we would hit traffic to the RH so we canceled outdoor pictures because of timing and we got on the Northern State-NO TRAFFIC. Neither one of us had our cell phones with us to call the photographers and let them know we should still go.

I'm sorry I'd make that face too if my DH did that! The worst part was that we spoke to the guy at the videography company a few weeks before the wedding and confirmed the plan and so did my DOC. The guy we spoke to relayed the wrong info to the videographer. They're throwing things in and taking some money off to make up for it which is a really nice effort but nothing can make up for the part of the video that will be missing. Sorry it happened to you too

Re: What went wrong?
my mom drove me crazy that morning because she couldn't find her undergarments, or shoes! Her and my dad were running all over the house looking for the bag she had everything in. The photographer showed up and started taking pics, my parents were still not dressed! The photographer took all the pictures of me and my girls and my parents still weren't dressed!! They finally gave up and my mom had to wear an old strapless bra and black shoes that she had (luckily it was a navy blue dress so no one noticed).
They found the bag the next day, where my mom had put it for safe keeping!

Re: What went wrong?
Well...what went wrong was my mother...she called me and my MOHs (my sisters) While we were in the limo en route to the RH and told me she wasn't coming!!! She has a history of self-ceneteredness and trying to make everything all about her. When she realized that she was not the center of attention she decided to cause some drama of her own She ended up coming...about 5 minutes before the ceremony. My MIL was so angry....she told me that she almost told my mother off....

Re: What went wrong?
when my flowers were delievered there was a dead flower in it. I was devastated. They fixed it, but still I was pissed.
My church scheduled a wedding IMMEDIATELY after mine. So I had her guests in my receiving line and my DOC had to wrangle them instead being with me and the photographer. (not her fault at all)
My grandparents never got their flowers.
OUr groomsman was given the wrong size shoe from the tuxedo place. The tuxedo place had to drop his shoes off at the church
My hair just didn't hold up. My veil and hair clip kept popping out.
But I laugh at all this stuff, it could have been worse!

That sounds exactly like something my Mom would do.

Re: What went wrong?
The day actually went perfectly... the only thing that threw a small wrench in was this.... DH's entire family is from upstate NY so instead of all driving down seperately they chartered a big bus to bring them all over. Well, the bus was about 20 minutes late to the ceremony (I was on time and ready to walk down that aisle at 3:30 on the dot). My family thought DH had no one at the ceremony so some of them started filling in his side of the church... about 20 minutes later, 50 some-odd people march into the church at once. We got a little bit of a late start, but it worked out in the end because after the ceremony people didn't have to wait around to RH for the CH to begin.

Hugs for all of us! It's probably not the same but I think I will at least have him (videographer) add some pictures into the video. Maybe you can do that as well. Our florist gave us a small refund too because of the CP/disaster they caused. Still doesn't make it ok, but what can you do!

me too! Stop beating yourself up over how you looked on your wedding day. You'd never know you were in a car accident 3 days before, you were a gorgeous bride.

unfortunately someone broke into our card box and ripped open cards looking for cash and they succeeded
luckily they only got away with a little cash but i kills me to think someone would do that.......

That is awful. Was this at the hall?
I was really shocked by the number of guests who gave cash at the wedding. I was very relieved that we had a metal birdcage that my father had screwed shut. The day after the wedding DH and my dad had to use a screw driver to open it.
