By her first name as I do now...but FH and his siblings call her by her first name as well.

They must be related to Tejan, b/c he,a nd his siter do the same.

My sister in law calls my parents Mil and Fil (not mother in law or father in law...just Mil and Fil). My dad hates it though and when he signs cards for her, he signs it Phil.

Anyway...it will be really weird calling anyone but my own mom 'mom' but I can't see calling them by their first names...I think FH's parents would really like it if I call them Mom and Dad.

I currently avoid the whole situation and don't address them as anything...

If they say hi Jackie I just say 'hi'. I think I'll see how long I can continue with this system...

I do the same thing!! Neither of my in laws have ever suggested calling them something else. It's kinda weird.....

I prob shold make myself clearer... my FIL have a little food store and it is called Alex & Mamma's kitchen. I have been calling her Mamma since b4 it was even ever imagined that we would be together...so after calling her Mamma for so many years it going to be hard to change that after we get married. so ill stick to Mamma.

edited: i forgot about my sister-- she has a tuff call on her hands. she def wants to call FMIL Mom b/c she is great and they get along so well BUT the girl that her FH's brother married (so her FSIL) calls FMIL by her first name...
so she feels like she would be stepping on FSIL's toes by calling her Mom when FSIL calls her by her first name!! but she feels bad calling her by her first name too... she's stuck!!

i'd love to be able to call her mom but she hasnt offered and doesnt seem like the type to want me tocall her mom... meanwhile my mom and dad have already asked FH to call them Mom and Dad or at least some variation of it.

I will be calling her my her first name until (if and when) she asks me to call her mom. I would like to call her mom, but they don't do that in his family. I know my parents will probably ask FH to call them mom and dad, but I'm not sure if his parents will ask me to. I am also not sure if FH will be comfortable calling my parents mom and dad. I guess we'll see when it comes!

i dont know.. i can't really call her mom.. she doesn't sign things as 'mom' or anything.. plus we arent that close.. im lost.. i call her by name now...
