Thank you for all saying your peace. I guess you all don't know the whole situation. You would never understand and thats fine. Not all family's are perfect. I don't have anything against anyone or any type of person. Thank you for all your thoughts.

Its a tough situation yes, and I think because we dont know the whole situation its easier to say this or that. I just want you to think about not just how your sister will feel but what about the children you are inviting? What kind of example are you showing them? The world isnt fair or right but they may be the ones that get hurt the most since it is their sibling. Good luck in what ever you decide.

Unfortunately, no - we don't know the whole situation - only as you explained it and that's what a lot of people based their responses on.

Am I a ***** for not wanting him to ruin my day and be all over my video. ?

yes. you are.

hope no one ruins your *photos*
btw.. photographers take over a THOUSAND photos... I'm sure you'll find a few that weren't 'ruined'
Videographers edit your video down to minutes ... I'm sure they can edit out any inappropriateness... I think you should have some faith in your sister & her BF that they will keep their children under control and up to YOUR standards..

i think some people are being a little judgemental to the OP - she is in a tough spot and was just looking for advice....i do understand both sides to the story and i can see why others might be offended but saying this is a disgusting post seemed a little harsh - all i know is that ive worked with developmentally disabled children and autistic children and i have seen some of the children behave in a manner where even their parents and aide could not handle them - and when a child is out of control like that it does draw attention to them - and not ALL people are understanding of the situation and i can see how it could take away from the bride and groom - of course, i dont know how this child behaves but i have seen some autistic children who are a little older (pre-teen like 12-15) that have had meltdowns that have been really dramatic and scary especially when the child can overpower an adult....for us, if we did have a child with a disability in our immediate family they would not have been invited because we are not inviting ANY children - so i think the problem here is excluding the child with the disability and not any other children....i think its a very sticky situation and it really depends on the parents - i do know of some parents who would hands down leave the child at home and i can think of other parents i have dealt with that would be offended - i guess the only advice would be to feel out how your sister and her partner feel about it - it seems lie they dont think the child is a problem since it sounds like he has been at other parties - i think his behavior may be more of a nuisance and he may not be destructive and violent - so in that case it doesnt sound too bad - you didnt say that he has hurt other people, or damaged property, that could be a problem but if he just running around having a good old time then maybe it wont be so bad - maybe he can sit out during the ceremony? that might be a good compromise? ..

I can also see both sides. I've taught for 12 years all together and we have special education classes in our building. I've seen meltdowns that are downright scary -- where the parent, teacher, and/or aide can not control the child and 911 had to be called before the child hurt him or herself. In May we went on a school trip to the zoo where a special needs student (MR) from my school kept running away from her mother. It was really nerve-racking.
My advice to the OP was based on these experiences. I also figured she meant that he was out of control. I have no idea if he is or not but I think it's subjective -- what I may think is ridiculous, you may find okay and vice versa. Parents are also often in denial -- one special ed. parent didn't think her child had a real behavior problem but he would spit, kick, and punch the teacher and the classroom aides when he didn't get his way. Which was often.

I hope she makes a decision where the child's feeling won't be hurt and her relationship with her sister won't be damaged beyond repair.
