Whats the rudest comment /question you've gotten since becoming engaged?

Mine continues to be 'are you pregnant'? um duh, if i was pregnant, would i be getting married in the summer of 2010?

also completely random people that ive never hung out with say 'you'd better invite me!'

im inviting around 275 to my wedding and
i hate when people tell me well you have to cut your list.. and then proceed to say... so i cant wait for the big day...

if im cutting my list y would i invite you???

I have a guy here who rents space on the floor i work on and i dont even know say to me so what are you going to invite me to your wedding..i told him no sorry just family..wth..ppl are insane

OMG YES! One close friend...well not so much since I got engaged, said- your reception is on Long Island? How am I going to get there? That's so far. Why didn't you do the City?

Erm...yea. Because my wedding revolves around you being there.

Hmm, we'll when I first got engaged it was 'Why are you waiting soooooooo long to get married?' (we are having a 2 year engagement). So I would say...'Do you want to pay for my wedding? No? Okay then SHUT UP!'

I've also gotten 2 nasty comments about my ring: 1 was 'It's nice, but its not what I would have wanted!' and the other was 'Oh, we'll you'll want to upgrade when you get older.' Those were both shocking comments considering my ring is gorgeous (if I do say so myself) and over 2 carats, so why would I want to upgrade?!?!?!

Mine has got to be the completely unsolicited inquiries into how much weight I want to lose, when am I going to start working out, etc, in preparation for the big day. I have one coworker who is partcularly relentless. She recently advised me that I needed to start working out soon or else it will be 'too late.' Um, too late for what? I'm 127 pounds and bought a size 8 wedding dress...no, i'll never be the thinnest bride out there, but no matter what size I was it's none of her business! My FH clearly loves me as is.

My personal fave was 'make sure you register somewhere affordable because not everyone makes as much money as you two.'

WHAT? And how exactly do you know how much money I make? Or FH for that matter? ***?

My favorite was FMIL. Quick background. I am Roman Catholic, FH is Episcopalian. We are getting married at a Roman Catholic church and technically any non-Roman Catholics are not supposed to receive communion. We intentionally are not having a full mass with a communion to avoid this situation.

However, before we decided on a church and whether or not to have a full mass, FMIL said to me:

'Well if it's in a Roman Catholic church and my son isn't allowed to receive communion, I'm still going up anyway, no matter what.'

.......Luckily this won't be a problem as we're not having a communion

The rudest comments have to be about losing weight. I am already tiny and I did not diet at all, but still some people would ask me when I plan on losing weight. Or is someone at my office would see me eating a cookie or something they would remark 'are you sure you want to eat that?'

I get 'Are you having a big wedding? you know ...you have been married before and people have already come to that one' Thats from family members!!!!!!
From other people, why are you waiting so long? I feel like telling them 'do you want to pay for it? i guess its like we have no other bills to pay and we can just shell out mega $$$$$ and get married in a couple of months

my mom with are you crazy wanting to spend that much money on your wedding? Um are you helping me no then shut the trap.

Also wow 2011 thats a long time. No its not shut it unless you want to pay for my wedding in 2010.

One of my BMs has actually been the rudest to me...when I told her I was engaged (before I asked her to be a BM even), she didn't even say congrats. The first thing she said was I don't believe in weddings and spending money on one day, you should just buy a house. Then the next thing she said was 'so how big is the rock'.

My best friend is doing the single city girl thing for a while. Temporary job, not sure where she'll be in a year, not making too much money. It works for her and I'm a little jealous that I didn't have that phase in my life. I went right from college to work and now I'm getting married. Anyway,

She has nothing but critical things to say about how much I am spending for my wedding. I am on a budget, but LI is expensive and anything is too much for her. She's in my bridal party and I am thinking twice about that now because she has nothing nice to say.

I've been told by FMIL why spend money on a wedding you've been together so long you should put it on a house.

I told her I don't know about when you were a little girl. But I've dreamt of the day I get married and so have my parents! Mothers usually don't dream of the day they see their son walk down the aisle to get to the alter. Having a girl is different altogether! (she has 3 sons)

I've been told why get married now you've been together for 8 years just have kids already.

I hate when people ask how FI got the $ for my ring. He is was in a car accident and has been disbled for 2 years.... either way WHO CARES! & WHO ASKS THAT?? It's none of their business.. what do they think it's fake? I always wanna freak when I get that question!
