We live in NYC and go to Central Park all the time. He proposed in CP under a particular tree that we like to sit under.
He had asked my Dad 3 days before, and was making all sorts of elaborate plans to take me away, do it in a fancy place, do something different and special.....but he decided on CP b/c the world changes so fast....and CP will be there forever for us to come back to.

Great stories!!! In an added note to mine, my FH kept telling me, 'It will happen, I just don't know when. I dont really have the money right now, so when I do, I'll get together with my uncle and we'll go over the ring.' He said it SO many times, that it kinda threw me off. I kept thinking it would be around my birthday, but those comments made me think otherwise. Little did I know!!! (If you didn't read my story, it's the first post)

On April 29 th,2005 I flew from New York to West Palm Beach, Florida, where Guiuliano now lives. He picked me up from the airport and we drove to a park. It was a beautiful park with palm trees all around us. It was perfect. The wind was blowing, the moon was full, and the sky was clear. The time was a little pass midnight. Guiuliano started telling me a story about how he went to a laboratory and had something of him cloned to take back with me to New York to watch over me since we were so far apart. He left me for a moment and said he had to go look for it and for me to wait with my eyes closed. He returned with a bear that was dressed up in clothes just like the clothes that Guiuliano wears. The bear was wearing a pair of white sneakers, kaki shorts and a white T-shirt under a blue hood sweatshirt on with the tattoo that Guiuilano has on his arm of a little devil embroidered on the back of it. When I zipped down the sweatshirt, the bear had a white tee-shirt on that had my name embroidered on it. The shirt said DANIELLE…. Then I turned to the back of the bear and the back of the tee said, WOULD YOU MARRY ME. Underneath the tee the bear had a necklace on with my engagement ring. Guiuliano got down on one knee and said I KNOW I HAVE FINALLY FOUND THE LOVE OF MY LIFE. YOU ARE MY BEST FRIEND, THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN I EVER LAY MY EYES ON AND NOW I WANT TO KNOW IF YOU WOULD SPEND THE REST OF MY LIFE WITH ME; DANIELLE, BABY, WOULD YOU MARRY ME. Of course I said yes. I was so happy I had tears in my eyes but was giggling at the same time.

We got engaged Dec 23, 2005
We were on our way into the city to Crobar for his Uncles Holiday Party. We were gonna get dinner before hand, just the 2 of us.
His uncle called and wanted to meet w/ us beforehand too.![]()
I was like whatever, I thought it would just be us. That got rid of any expectation I had. He told us to meet him at the Barclay Hotel lobby bar.
So we get there and his uncle isn't there, we have a round of drinks. He calls him, and asks where he is. He says he's in the upstairs bar. I thought it was like a W Hotel bar or something.
So we take the elevator up to the top floor, and there's 2 glass doors at the end of the hallway, he opens them, and there's candles and rose petals all over the floor. He got down on one knee and proposed. I cryed and said 'YES.. of course I will!!!'
He got hooked up with the Presidential Penthouse Suite. It was RIDICULOUS!!! Bigger than my freakin house. They had little sandwiches, chocolate covered strawberries, and champagne on the Grand Piano in the living room. We ordered room service, and ate in the dinning room.
This Saturday is our 1 year anniversary!! I can't believe how it's flown by!

My poor FH had to propose 2 times. It’s a long story but let me give you a brief breakdown. We have been through a lot together and our relationship has been tested MANY times. Through it all we stuck together and I believe we will continue to do so for a lifetime to come.
My FH went to my dad to ask for my hand in marriage. Mind you that was his 1st time after 4 years of being together that he came into my house with my parents there.
Anyway they had a convo and go my dads blessing but for a number of reasons… one being my bro had recently gotten engaged and was getting married he though it would be best if we FH waited a little while so that he can propose.
Fh didn’t like that idea that someone was telling him what to do… so he went ahead with his original plan and proposed when he wanted to…..
1st time:
It was 6/13/05, a Monday night and I had just gotten out of the gym. After doing 2 step classes in a row, I changed and he picked me up form the gym. I had been a little bit upset about the response he got from my dad the night b4 but I was relieved that their meeting didn’t go worse. (Again my dad is really strict)
So anyway he picked me up, we got some frozen yogurt and he took me to “our” park. Where we 1st kissed and we always hung out in.
So while we were sitting there on a bench I was babbling and telling him that it would be great if we could just scr*w everyone and get married right under the arch of the jungle gym… then he said yes my love but soon it will happen… so I said yeah but not soon enough, all of a sudden he gets of the bench gets down on one knee with the ring in his hand and said “ is now a good time?”
Well I started crying and I was thrilled and happy and of course I said yes but then reality kicked in and I knew my dad would flip. So I didn’t take the ring. I knew that just for the fact that FH went against him they would never have a good relationship cuz my dad would be a prick toward him. So I didn’t want to make our lives miserable.
Anyway after lots of talking and working things out (both of us were a mess) we decided that it would be best to just wait a bit and then try again.
2nd time:
It was 12/24/05; X-mas eve and we were together all day running around doing some last minute stuff for both parties that we had to attend that night. We were having a quick bite at his house form 6pm and had to be at my house for a formal dinner at 9:30. so we were at his house opening gifts with a whole bunch of people. I was kinda in a rush cuz it was already 9 and we were still there. Finally he said “babe open 2 of ur gifts here and the we will open the rest at ur house” so I opened 2 and was ready to go. He stops me and was like no open this one too ... pleeeeeeeeeease. So I was like “FINE” He helped me open it. It was a Precious Moments figurine with a little boy on one knee with a ring box open and a little girl sitting on a bench with her back to him.
He had attached my ring to the box the little boy was holding. I looked up he god down on one kneed and asked me to be his forever. I just cried and hugged him!!!!

FH told me numerous times....When he proposes, it will be so special and memorable! Well, it was!! ![]()
It was romantic and unique...I was taken by surprise. My story is long, but I will keep it short and sweet...Maybe! ![]()
He couldn't pick me up from work that day. When I got home, he called me. He wanted me to take a ride with him to get a bite to eat. I said fine. We drove and finally pulled into a parking lot. He told me he had to run into the store to get someting. It was a Pepboys. I wanted to wait in the car. When he opened the door to get out, he turned around outside, and got down on his knee. The date was July 1, 2005. He brought me to that spot on our first date before Pepboys was there to play miniature golf. We went there July 1, 1994. Our actual anniversary of when he asked me out was July 5, 1994. So, really it was 10 years after our first date that he proposed to me....It was sooo romantic!!

had been telling Jose for months that I wanted to ride the carousel when I returned to Japan. On memorial weekend, Jose and I decided to visit American Village in Okinawa. I was videotaping the street performers when he asked me if I wanted to ride the carousel. Jose and I climbed into the Carousel and we started to video tape the view. As the cage ascended the view became a little too blurry for the video so Jose decides to put my camcorder on the floor of the cage. Before he does this he starts puts the camera next to his face and starts whispering (I could not hear him but I figured he was being silly). When we reached the very top of the carousel he starts to fumble around and tells me that he could not find my camera. He gets off the seat and fumbles around for my camera. He became really nervous and weird to me. This whole time I was thinking that he was going crazy. (I now realize that he was getting on his knee, I have never seen Jose so nervous). I started to panic thinking that we lost an expensive video camera. All of a sudden this bright light hits me in the eyes. He then begins to speak the most precious words. (sorry thats our personal memory cant share).Then he slips this beautiful ring on my finger. That day I made the best decision of my life when I said YES! Te Amo mi amor!

wellll....being that I know the jeweler, i know diamonds, i do the insurance, and i am a control freak, i knew about EVERYTHING. I even did the negotiating on my diamond. The next day, we took it to get insured in the morning, he asked my parents that afternoon, and that evening, he held it in my face and said, 'Uhh, you want this now?'![]()

It's okay....when FH gave me the ring with the Steelers jersey, he asked 'Will you marry me?' in his silly mock-sincere voice when he feels awkward being sincere. Even though I was THRILLED, I stopped him and said ASK ME SERIOUSLY! hahahaha!!! I think I made him do it twice until he got it right!!!

I had the worst day of not recieving a job I wanted, meanwhile interviewing for another, so I was not in a great mood.![]()

long story short- fh took me to the beach last day of summer (my absolute favorite time of year) and whatever we spent the day there and some chick coicidently asked me to help her fly her kite ( totally not planned) so i did and in the meantime rich wrote will you marry me on the sand and i said yes and we lived happily ever after ![]()

FH and I had an entire weekend planned of being in the city....(I was going thru alot this past summer with my health and some personal stuff) FH wanted to just take me out to the city and do things I wanted to do.....(Our first plan was to go on top of the Empire State Building on Sunday and then go out to eat *he told me to buy a dress---very weird( I thought it was coming on Sunday)*-- But Saturday, FH and I were going into the city for my best friends birthday-- We left early so we can just enjoy the city and get a drink or two before.....So he takes me to the 'Top of the Rock' and said that their was a bar up there where we can get a drink and that he heard it is a beautiful view.....So we are up there and everything became such a blur to me....We were looking at the Empire State Building from the Top of the Rock - and I was like 'Look that is where we are going tomorrow..' He then said - No it's right now - I looked at him like he was an idiot and he started going down on one knee.....I grabbed him by both of his arms and said 'no it's tomorrow- you have to be freaking kidding me --After I stopped freaking out - he asked me 'Will you Marry me?' Again I asked 'ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME' - and he said 'well will you' I said 'Of course'......

We were on a cruise to the Bahamas. We had made reservations at the sushi resturant on board the ship for a romantic dinner the second night. Well, everything went wrong. We got our first course and FH started throwing up, had to run to the bathroom. He told me he was allergic to the edamame, but it was really b/c he was so nervous, he knew he was going to propose later. After dinner, we went back to our room and were sitting out on our balcony. We were just watching the sunset and the water, when he started to cry. All of the sudden, he got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. It was completely unexpected and I'll never forget the way I felt when I realized what he was actually doing. It was so great. And it was a 7 day cruise, so we partied for the next 5 days and nights to celebrate. It was the most fun ever.
And I think it's so cute that he was so nervous he threw up!!

FH and I both took the day off-- we never get to spend the entire day together (his days off are during the week when I work! -- uggh!) It also was kinda an anniversary -- We had been together for 1 year 4 months (I don't really count the months but FH is a mush and he does)
He said that it was my day-- whatever we wanted to do we could do-- I should've known something was up when he agreed to go shopping & he actually thought it was a good idea b/c he wanted to take me out to dinner & I didn't have anything nice to wear with me (I was dressed in casual clothes)
We went to eat at a restaurant near the water -- it started to drizzle & he looked upset b/c he wanted to go for a stroll along the beach.... I suggested we just grab the sweatshirts from the car and wear the hoods and walk along the boardwalk.... BOY am I glad I did!!! It was so romantic -- he got down on his knee & everything.... He had also asked my dad for my hand a couple of days before!! how amazing?! Everything was perfect-- then he played me a song when we got back into the car-- a song that became the song we will dance our first dance to---- It couldn't have been done better! The best night of my life so far!!!!!!

FH and I planned a quick last minute trip to Disney in March. I was about to start a new job so we figured it would be our last chance to go away for a while. I figured that he would eventually propose in Disney but since we planned the trip 5 days before we went, I didn't think he had time to get the ring.
On the second night we were there we were at the Magic Kingdom watching the fireworks. He was standing behind me with his arms around me and during the finale of the fireworks he just held the ring box in front of my face, opened it and asked me to marry him. I turned around and hugged him and was so happy and excited.
Since there were about 1000 people standing around and the fireworks were just ending, everyone was trying to leave the park. So we ran to this little garden spot that was right nearby and he put the ring on and gave me his little speech. He was carrying the ring all day in his pocket while he went on the rides and was afraid it was going to fall out somewhere.
I love our story and i was really impressed with how fast he pulled it all off.

long story short... on 12/10/05 FH had planned dinner in the city and afterwards seeing the x-mas tree. after seeing the tree, i thought we were walking back to penn station and we actually ended up in central park (where we had our 1st date) FH said he wanted to take a carriage ride since we didnt get to on our 1st date. he proposed about halfway through the carriage ride.. it was soo romantic esp. since there was snow covering the entire park!!![]()

I knew it was coming at some point bc he had been asking me silly questions what shirt size do u wear? what size in pants? what size in shoes? WHAT SIZE IN RINGS? We had a vacation coming up at the Atlantis in Bahams in a few weeks. though that was when he'd do it. My grandma was here in NY (she lives in FL) and all my family was over. Matt and I were going back up to Ithaca (where we went to college) to see a football game (a very BIG football game for IC) and the entire time up, Matt was complaining he was hot and uncomfortable - I didnt know what was going on, so I let him keep the car cold, I kept my 'bun warmer' on and my jacket over me. He had kept saying he really wanted to go to a gorge (a waterfall) while we were in Ithaca and the best time to go would be right when we get there. I kept saying that that wasn't on my big lists of things to do while we were in Ithaca only for a weekend, but I said yes. So we get there and we get out of the car and I see Matt going into his bag, but I thought nothing of it, he told me he was getting gloves - it was freezing. So we start hiking down the mountain/hill thing towards the waterfall and it was so beautiful. Anyway, he goes let me take a picture of you. So I'm standing there and he goes, let me get a better angle and he kneels down on the ground, and I yell, 'I'm gonna look fat from that angle' He is like no you won't. So he takes the picture and I fumble for my camera and ask him to take one with mine and as I do this, he pulls out a box. I just start screaming 'no, no, no' and 'really?' 'are you serious?' and he opens the box and I scream some more. He keeps getting up to calm me down, so I yell that he didn't ask me yet, so he gets back down and asks me to marry him and I of course said yes!!
All of our friends were in town for the game so the whole weekend we got to celebrate. We even saw an old collgee professor we had together and she was like 'so when are you getting married?' and we told her that we just got engaged today!! It was just so nice to celebrate with the people who were there from the beginning of our relationship.

He took me to Cape Cod for 4th of July weekend and I was hoping and praying that it would happen that weekend!! But, I totally anticipated it being over candle lit dinner or in the privacy of our beautiful suite, but instead he caught be off guard in my joggin suit the first day we were there. We rented bicycles and went for a 7 mile ride down the canal and at the end was a private little beach. He suggested we walk up onto the rocks overlooking the water and take pics, which we did. After he tood pics of me, I said, 'okay, now you....and went to reach for the camera and saw that he had thee black velvet box in his hand and he said, 'okay, but first.....' And it was so surreal I couldn't believe that I was actually in the moment I had waited for all my life!!!! He asked me to do him the honor of being his wife and I screamed yes and showered him with hugs and kisses......after about 2 min of doing so, he finally said,' YOU CAN LOOK AT THE RING YOU KNOW!'
