I had picked out my e-ring months before FH proposed. He bought it and put it away but told me I'd get it before the summer was over. We both love Canada and Montreal is where we first fell in love. For labor day weekend FH booked us a beautiful suite in the heart of the city overlooking the Montreal skyline for the three day w/e. Saturday night after I had just finished getting ready to go out FH called me over to the bed where he was sitting and the wall was all glass so you saw the city all lit up and he told me he loved me and then asked me to marry him. It was perfect!! In the city we first fell in love in....in an gorgeous room with the most amazing view. He couldn't have planned it any better. After that we went out for a nice dinner and some drinks and took a bunch of pics in the hotel lobby with all the centerpieces and romantic decor.

it was on our trip to Italy... we visited family and in between i planned a mini trip for us to Cinqueterre - vernazza(my aviator)... (since i planned the trip i figured it wouldnt happen then) our room had a rooftop terrace that overlooked the whole city... we had dinner up there and the sun was setting in the background... after dinner we were taking pics of the view and enjoying the sunset....then he changed the ipod to our favorite song and set up the video camera to tape the final chapter of our mini trip(my parents wanted me to videotape the towns because they were thinking of going next year- which in the end was all part of FH's plan so our families could see the moment)... so we started talking about whats next on ur trip and how beautiful Cinqueterre was and so on.. i tried to end it quickly because i'm not a fan of cameras and then he said wait whats that (pointing to under the lounge chair) i looked and he grabbed the little box out of his pocket, got down on one knee and i was in tears from then on... i couldnt believe it was happening!! and the ring was exactly what i wanted.. he pulled off the best surprise and the romantic setting couldnt have been better!!

It's okay....when FH gave me the ring with the Steelers jersey, he asked 'Will you marry me?' in his silly mock-sincere voice when he feels awkward being sincere. Even though I was THRILLED, I stopped him and said ASK ME SERIOUSLY! hahahaha!!! I think I made him do it twice until he got it right!!! It's not always the way you envisioned it, but I know it's FH's way, so I find it endearing. I was kinda annoyed I had to make him say it seriously though hahaha!! Once he did it really felt real. I wouldn't change it now! I love him as the emotionally immature guy that he is!
We're obviously with guy's guys!!!
Hey sis, listen. For the record, it's scary. Even if we know you're going to say yes. Even if you have been waiting for us to propose. I had my best man tell me he would smack me if i asked him 'well, what if she says no'.
I'm just sayin.

Aww I'm sorry bro, I know it's scary. But....FH is not the type to get scared. Especially when I had been busting his balls about proposing for a LONG time! I'm gonna say no?!??! We went ring shopping and I'm gonna say no???
I know, it is a big moment for the big guy. And he did good anyway! He definitely put some thought into it!
