When did everyone book their venue? FH and I didnt do it yet and i'm afraid we wont have a place to get married

We booked about 2 weeks after we got engaged. We got engaged x-mas eve and booked like the 1st or 2nd week of January

Booked mine about two weeks after we were engaged. I thought I was ahead of the game looking @ venues in June '07 for September '08 but when I went to Vineyard Caterers, they only had one saturday left in '08. I immediately booked without FH looking @ it but he gave me the 'thumbs up' since he loves the Northfork and trusted my judgement!

We booked about three weeks after getting engaged.
We booked in January of 2006 for January of 2008.

Well our planning had a mishap or 2 , but once we re-set our date & found a venue that wasn't shutting down we were set, we booked in Nov. '06 for June '08 (11 months after being engaged, we booked elsewhere for Fall '07, but our venue closed down ) Some places we were interested were booked, Bar mitzvah / another wedding etc., but the date we picked is pretty popular I wouldn't panic, but start your research that way you & FH can choose what you want instead of what's left

We booked early to ensure we got the room and place we want. My FSIL is planning her entire wedding within 6 months.

we booked about a year in advance, 2-3 months after getting engaged. my cousin is planning his whole wedding in 7 months and my friend planned his in 6. both on long island. so don't worry you still have time and everything.

I booked 5 days after we got engaged. We really wanted 8/8/08, and we were afraid we weren't going to get it. ***Come to find out, that after we signed the check for our deposit, the couple sitting out in the waiting area were there for the same day, they assumed that no one would book that far in advance (17 months) so they didn't call ahead.***

We booked about 4-5 months after we got engaged which was 2 years before the original wedding date and then changed it a little over 2 years til our date now.

Thanks ladies you guys are wonderful! My FH (aka my wedding planner) called some of the places we wanted and they have the date... now the cost per head and room rental fees are a different story. By any chance does anyone have the scoop on Timber Point? Anyone getting married there? or know anyone who did?

We started looking before we were engaged. Found it about a week after and booked another 2 weeks. So about a month after being engaged,
we booked 2 weeks after we were engaged the first weekend we just went to look so then we fell in love so we waited until the showcase to book cause we wanted to at least try some of the food with our parents and my MOH
