I got engaged in May. We registered immediately at Fortunoff and Target. Target is great if you have out of town guests. A lot of people bought us gifts for the e-party even though we didn't even expect it. I guess they asked my Mom when they RSVP'd

A few months after my e-party I registered at Crate & Barrel. This was great b/c they have an assortment of things at all different prices- almost everything got purchased for my shower.

some people register after an e party so they get money instead.
i did not have an e paty, however, registered 9 months before our wedding

I registered about a month after I got engaged..mainly just for the fun of it. It was about 14 months before the wedding! LOL

I registered the weekend after I got engaged and then the pressure was on....friends and family were asking why I didn't go sooner. Oh, registering is tiring..just ask the brides. My FI and I were so tired I couldn't look at another plate, glass or flatware set...I was traumatized!!! LOL

Engaged in June, and registered in August. My family kept bugging me to do it, because they wanted to buy us engagement gifts so of course I gave in. We continue to get gifts off of our registry from friends and family. We do need to go back soon to add some more items before the shower.

Got engaged in July, will get married next July, and still haven't registered. We didn't have an e-party and I felt that I needed to find a reception site, officiant, and other major vendors first. I think we'll register next month.

I registered in September and my wedding is in July. I have to go back and add some more things on. I would think about 6 months before is fine.

we're thinking of registering a month or 2 before the e-party. the e-party is in april. we figure we'll just register for a few items this way if any one asks my mom about we're we are registerd or what to get us my mom can tell them well they registerd at these places if you are interested.

My matron told me that when she was engaged she and her FI registerd before the e-party and everyone bought stuff off there registry and she had to add more items to the registry. So FI and I figure we'll just put some stuff on the registry and then after the e-party we'll slowly add more stuff to it.
