When/Where is the

place card table usually set up? I had my menu appt last night at WM and they told me that it should be set up and ready at the beginning of the cocktail hour. For some reason, I always thought that guests picked up their place cards toward the end of the cocktail hour? Are they supposed to walk around with their place card during the cocktail hour?

Sorry - my wedding is the first NY wedding I will be attending ( ) so I'm pretty clueless!

I went to a wedding at westbury manor last year, their cocktail hour was outside, and then when we came in the placecards were set up for us (if i remember correct, they were right when we walked in the room), we didn't have to carry them around. most weddings ive gone too, if the cocktail hour is in the same room as dinner, you got your place card first, but if they were in 2 separate locations, you didn't get the place card until you got to the room for dinner, HTH!

Most people won't take them until after CH. But in my opinion, they shoud be set up before CH.
