My FH and 4 members of the BP do not live on LI. They will all be traveling for the wedding, so I was planning to have the RD the night before the wedding, but my sisters are telling me you are not supposed to have it the day before the wedding and that you usually have it on the Thursday or Friday before. I know I will have to check with the church first anyway, but I was just wondering what other people did. TIA!

i have the same problem. 5 of my BMs are from out of state, but i'm getting married at 10am on a saturday so there's NO WAY i'm having it friday night. i'm doing it thursday because i want a good night's sleep on friday.
i've been in 3 weddings--2 on saturday night and we had the RD the night before. one on a sunday day and we had it on the wednesday before i think...but we all lived in town so it didn't matter

I'm getting married on a Sunday, and we're having it that Friday. Too much going on in our heads to have it the night before.

We got married at the hall so we didn't have a rehearsal until the morning of the wedding, but we had a RD the night before. DH and I lived in CT, and all of DH's family lived outside of LI. It was the most convenient time to have the dinner and it was a really nice way to relax and spend the evening before the wedding.

I am getting married on a Sat. The deacon tried talking me into having it on Thurs but everybody on my side is coming from NJ. So, for that reason I am having it on fri night. There was no way that anybody was going to come on a Thursday night and go home then come back again for my Sat wedding.

Either Thurs or Fri night. My flower girl and ring bearer are from out of state so it depends on when they arrive.

Our wedding is Saturday morning at 10am so our dinner is on thursday around 7:30pm..

I also have 4 members of BP coming in from OOT. I am hoping they can get here to have the RD on Thursday for Sunday evening wedding. I got the best price for a Thursday night dinner for 42 people!

I live OOT of town and so do 2 of my 5 BMs so it will have to be the night before. Luckily the wedding isn't until 7pm.

RD is Friday night and the wedding is Saturday at 3pm. I had to do it the night before b/c of OOT family and BP members.

3 people in the bp are OOTs, so we're having our RD the night before the wedding. although they are flying in on the Thursday, I wouldn't ask them to attend the rehearsal right after deplaneing.

Our church is having our rehearsal the day before the wedding, which is a Friday. We are going to have our rehearsal dinner right after.
