I told him he as an a$$hole!.. i thought he was joking with me again!! I was putting on my eye makeup getting ready to go out to dinner when he asked... who proposes to someone when they are putting on makeup???

Okay, My boss used to be a jewler, so she gets diamons and stuff at cost, and gold and platnum at 1/2 retal. So, anyway, her bro bought this ring for his gf at the time. The ring cost him $6,000 at cost, it appraised for about $10,000, well just the center diamon 1.38ct princess cut. The rest of the ring is platnum w/ 3 chanel set .5 diamons on each side. I LOVED THIS RING! Well n e way, she cheated on him and he just wanted to get rid of the ring, SO he sold it to my fh for $3,000 (the deal of a life time) But, I had to get it, so when I gave it to him, I waited for like a year to propose, and he didn't do it, so I cried and he said 'I just can't think of n e thing special enough' so I just started wearing the ring and calling churches and stuff, he says he'll propose b4 the wedding. I told him he better, because I feel that I have been robbed, so thats why I was never proposed to!!

Well, we went ring shopping together, so I knew it was coming sometime. And then since we live together, I accidentally heard the message from the jeweler on our answering machine that the ring was ready! But he went to pick it up while I was out shopping for the day. When I got back I knew he was going to propose, so it was this excited anticipation. I knew it was coming, but I didn't know what he was going to say or how he was going to do it. It was kind of cool.

I knew he was going to do it...i was looking through all the drawers in our apt because i was having trouble with my breaks and had just gotten them fixed so I was looking for the receipt. I happened upon the ring box in the bedside table. I took it out to look at it and saw the date engraved on the inside. All day at work, the day he proposed I was so nervous and so trying not to let on that i knew. It was still exciting anyway, but i almost felt like it wasn't real.

I thought I was going to pass out!!! I have never been so shocked in my life. We have never even looked at rings together or even really talked much about it . It was the best surprise ever and glad it was caught on video, my face was priceless!!!!

OK, after that story, I don't feel as bad about my reaction...
FH said my first words were, 'that's stupid.'
I kind of knew it was going to happen that night (we were headed to Uncle Jack's) where we had our very first date (he had once said the next time we go there will be when I propose----way back when he said this) & he was acting a bit weird all week. Well, we're heading to U.J's (outside on the sidewalk) & he proposed there.
In my head I was like that's stupid...we're going to this amazing restaurant & are all dressed up & you are out here proposing on the sidewalk. Later he told me it was where he first kissed me & even if U. Jack's isn't there years from now, that sidewalk/corner always will be.

He got down on one knee.. I kneeled down too... He told me to get up. I was clueless!!! When he pulled out the ring, I was in total shock!!! I couldn't believe it was happening. It took me 10 minutes to finally say 'yes' !!!

I know exactly what you mean, I wasn't scared but I did feel like 'Is this really happening to me right now?, Am I really getting engaged?! Holy Sh*t! Holy Sh*t!! '. But then the emotion just moved into exitement and giddyness and I was smiling ear to ear the whole night, my cheeks physically hurt at the end of the night from smiling so much.. LOL .. I was caught so off guard, we had talked about marriage but never looked at rings (which I thought we would have).... It was, by far, the best suprise in my entire life!

I also kind of had a feeling because I noticed a big bulge in his back pocket ..Oh was like OMG what if thats a ring! So I started to get somewhat nervous...I am surprised I didn't pass out

Same here... I kept asking him 'Are you serious right now? Are you serious?' And he just kept nodding with a excited look on his face.... And I was just staring at the ring, it feels like it took me forever to say yes but FH says it really only took a few minutes for me to finally say 'yes'!

I had on a regular fruit of the loom white t-shirt. When he opened the ring box (he had joked around like this for years pretending to propose. Cruel right?!) that shirt was DRENCHED. I broke out into such a sweat and started shaking...and telling him no, no, no. LOL I had to stop and say yes but I was in such denile cause I didn't think it would ever happen.

I knew it was coming, but I was in shock mostly because he picked it out himself, and he has good taste and it was bigger than I thought it would be. I love my ring.
anyway, I was not showered, in my pajamas laying around the house when he drove over and kind of took the ring box out of the paper bag it was in (from the jeweler) then he cried, and I figured it out. (he never actually got the words out!!) but, here we are...
