I'm just wondering where you got engaged? Was it romantic? Did you cry? Were you suprised?
I was SHOCKED when the love of my life Carlos proposed. We had been going out for a few years but I never thought he would pop the question so soon. He even asked my Dad if he was OK with it!
I'm in the beginning stages of my planning and need all the help I can get. I've been browsing through so many sites, chat boards, and vendors. I'm so excited!

We got engaged at Walt Disney World, in front of Cinderella's Castle <------------------------
WDW has always been a special place for me (I wanted to go since I was a toddler, but I never got to go until FH took me in Jan 2003.)
On Jan 10, 2004, we watched the Spectromagic (light) parade at the foot of mainstreet, then we walked all the wya up mainstreet to the castle to wait for the fireworks. As we were waiting, he asked a guy nearby to take our picture in front of the castle. He kept pulling me back and back and then he kissed me and said 'I love you' and as I protested ('That poor guy is trying to take our pic'). He got down on one knee and said 'jennifer, will you marry me'. Which is the moment you see to the left!!! Hee hee. I didn't cry, but I was pretty shocked and suprosed, although I shouldn't have been. Everything was slo mo and surreal. I should have known b/c he'd dropped adorable hints all week. Then we watched the fireworks together.
ETA: He'd had the ring in the hotel safe...and also earlier that day he'd teased me. We were on line for a ride and he said 'jennifer I love you, I want to spend the rest of y life with you so I want you to have this' and he gave me a pin!! and I was SO mad..So I searched his pocket, just as a joke. As it turned out, had I searched the other pocket, I'd have found the ring!

He put my ring in a glass of wine at Applebees. When I came back from the bathroom all the waitresses were looking at us and I couldnt figure out why, why I looked in the glass there it was. Not very romantic, but he was too nervous to wait till the weekend this was on a Thurs night.

We got engaged at EAB plaza. He snuck into an igloo that was set up for the Christmans holiday and said...'Look what I found' and when I looked he was on his knee with the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. Of course I said yes and I cried on the ride home.

He asked me in a carriage ride thur central park, he was so nervous but he managed to get down in the carriage!!!!!
Central Park after a carriage ride. I was crying so much I couldnt see the ring at first. It was the happiest moment of my life!

In our apartment.........Shortly after our 5 year aniversary..... My Fi is a graphic desinger and all around artist. I was home sick from work and planning on staying home the next day. My Fi woke me up to...I was kinda upset because I couldn't figure out why he was waking me up at 11 PM. He sat there with my engagment ring and 5 foot letters plastered over our bedroom ceiling saying 'Will you Marry me?' After I tearily accepted ...I asked him how the hell did he get letters on the ceiling...espically since Iwas sleeping on the bed.

Fi took me out to a really romantic dinner - our table was next to a fire place, the whole nine yards. Then we went to his apartment, and I opened the door and the place was just glowing! He had candles EVERYWHERE, rose petals covering the place, a dozen roses on the table, chocolate covered strawberries (that he made himself!) and champagne. (He also had our song playing in the background - he made a cd so the song repeated itself over and over so that it would be on when we came in) I was completely shocked! We sat down, he made a toast, got down on one knee and the rest is history!!! :))
p.s. I thought people were going to come jumping out because I had no idea how he got the candles lit, but he set it up to have his sister & bro-in law there to light everything and leave a few minutes before we got there. hahaha
It was just perfect

At sunset in Newport, Rhode Island overlooking the water. I never thought he would propose there because I couldn't believe he walked around with the ring for two days I didn't know it. He had it in his pocket the entire time.
I got married in Newport at sunset overlooking the water too... he couldnt wait two days, he did it on the first night!

Christmas Eve at Rockefeller Center, it was funny complete strangers were taking pictures of us and cheering, one lady yelled at me because i was so shocked at first that i didnt answer him...you gotta love NY

We went on vacation to Miami. Bryan and I went to his grandparents' condo ourselves to spend the week there. Its beautiful! Its right on the bay and has a lovely balcony. The first night we are sitting out there and he says he wants to get a bottle of champagne. He brings it out and a poem that he reads to me that he wrote. At the end he gets down on one knee and proposes to me. It was so romantic!
