What stores do you shop in for everyday clothes?
Thanks!!!

Oh my, this thread slyly seperated out the rich people and the poor people now didn't it? Proud to be the white trash shopping the racks at Marshalls!
or it might be by convenience...the store i shop most at is Maiko in forest hills-i never walk out of there without buying something which says alot for me bc i rarely buy things when i go shopping, Fh told me to even stop going to malls bc no matter how many stores there are ill leave with nothing but a few mins at this store i walk out with quite a few items...Not only do i love their clothes but its also 5 mins from my house and everything is between $40-80.
Honestly there is no marshalls or jc penny near me so of course im gonna stick to places that are more convenient for me to get to. I also grew up in astoria which is a 10min train ride to bloomies so for all of us it was very convenient to go there. People also end up shopping at places by their job too
On top of all your justifications for where you shop, I truly don't think anyone needs to make a point of mentioning that some of us have more money than others. Everyone has their own style. I'm not ashamed that I have some nice things and nobody else should be either. I also have some cheapie things, and I'm not ashamed of that either. They're just clothes...
I agree, im not ashamed at all i have a wide range of things...i just thought the whole rich ppl and poor people thing dont even apply bc like i said this depends alot on where we live. PLUS somebody can shop at marshalls, jc penny and spend tons of money there buying LOTS of things and i can spend even less buying just 1 or 2 items at a more expensive store or they can shop more frequently.

I 100% agree. I know sometimes people on here really get braggy about some things, but I don't think this is one of those times and I just wish everyone wasn't always so quick to say 'look at the rich people' in a thread where the question is 'where do you shop?' and everyone answers honestly.

I think Mimacat was most likely making a joke!
With that said, almost all of my clothes come from Old Navy -- bags and shoes, that's another story.
Bloomies has great shoes -- and an even greater CLEARANCE RACK for shoes!!!
Seriously, the Bloomies shoe clearance rack at Whitman is like no other.
Also, I have clothes from Nordstrom, and clothes from Walmart. It's all about finding things I like, and things that look good. I don't care where they come from.

i know in what way it was said, but like they say all jokes have some truth behind it. Thing also is that on LIW there is alot of separation bc ppl categorize themselves and stick with those ppl, and this is another example some ppl will sit there and think oh yeah im so different than those ppl i cant relate to them. Ok my point is done lol just wanted to show how you cant really judge just by looking at 1 thing

Mima, that cracked me up!!!
....I dont give a flock, Ill be the first to admit I LOVE Marshalls and Mandees and Forever 21 and Century 21 and all those other places! Sometimes if ya gonna buy something trendy, you dont want to spend 200 dollars on something that your not gonna wear in a year, whats the point??. Better to splurge on classic pieces you know your gonna keep around.

I agree it totally depends on geography and convenience. I used to shop at Cent 21, Loehmann's, nordtrom and bloomies all the time out in LI, now my options are whatever is at queens center mall, on austin st., and lord and taylor since it's the only dept store near work. Though this thread is making me realize 1. it's been a long time since i shopped and 2. I don't like to shop that much!!
twice a year FH and i go to the outlets - either woodbury or riverhead - and I clean house there with all the sale stuff, usually at Ann Taylor, Banana, and calvin klein. that's my preferred method of shopping!

i've seen maiko - i walked by the other day but i was too wimpy to go in - it looked like skinny girl clothes - is it?! I'm not fat but not skinny so i wasn't sure. but i'll check it out. I wish Queens center had a better dept store; i'm not a big fan of macys. i like bloomies and nordstrom's esp for shoes.
did you know they are opening up a cent 21 in rego park right near QC!?! I can't wait, i always get my winter coats at cent 21. it'll probably be mobbed though if it's like the one downtown.

I really like going on celeblook.com. They show celbrities on recent red carpets and tell you where you can get what they're wearing either exactly or even cheaper. Some things are so so cute!
