Where else have you lived? Do you want to stay here?

Where else have you lived? Do you want to stay here?

We just moved to Long Island about 2 years ago and I can't believe that people actually have money to buy houses here. How many of you have lived somewhere else? I do like Long Island, but can't afford it. We are looking to get out.

I am from upstate and I also lived in the midwest for a few years. It's weird how different areas have such different ways of life. Anybody else?

I lived in Ohio, Colorado, and Florida when I was little.
We moved to Long Island when I was 8.

I went to college in Virginia and never left. FH and I own a townhouse down there and love it.

I grew up in Queens then moved to LI to go to school SUnyStonybrook then I moved Upstate

Born and raised on LI. Lived in NYC but that's still NY so I've never left! We plan on staying because we already own a home here. Who knows what will happen in the future though.

I lived in South Africa for a while when I was younger. I miss the heat, but that's all. My fiance lived in Georgia for a while, and he couldn't deal with the slow pace, but he was an impatient 17 year-old at the time.

I would love to find a place that's a lot like Vermont (Burlington especially) but doesn't get as cold and move there. I hear Charlottesville, VA is a lot like that. I can't take the crowding and the weather here. I can't wait to leave Long Island!

Born and raised in Upstate, NY. Moved to LI about 6-7 years ago. I love it down here, but can't seem to commit to buying a house. For what we have waiting for us Upstate compared to what we can get down here...it just doesn't equal out at all.

I've lived in central Pennsylvania (I didn't like it) and NYC - I now live in Westchester and we're considering a move to San Diego. I have to have the ocean close by!

After college, moved to Baltimore, where my apartment was not much cheaper than my Long Island apartment, and I have also lived in Albany, which was MUCH MUCH cheaper... But my salary was also lower when I worked there...

Yes, houses on LI are so ridiculous and I am scared to even think about buying one!

Hey, I went to college at Oswego! I was in Syracuse often. And I swam there a bunch too.

I grew up on LI (Bellerose/Floral Park), started college in Delaware, then came back to NY to go to Queens College. Moved to Georgia for school. Had to move to St. Louis for 4 months, back to GA. Then last year I spent 6 months in Boston. Now back in GA. Wow, now that I think about it, I've lived in quite a few places. I do call GA my home now though!

everything depends on where the jobs in my field are available....

Hey...where you from upstate? I am from Lake george area. Moved to long Island 4 years ago. I have also lived in Oklahoma....I would say skip that state, LOL

We have thought about moving, but ALL of my FH family is here...and I don't really want to go back upstate...the other places we are considering are Maryland or Virginia...I just hate to go where we have noone, especially when we have children. I own a house already, so we are okay there...but its VERY small..so we have to figure out something in the next year or two.

besides my 3 1/2 years of college in Albany, I've lived on LI my whole life.

i'm moving to jersey...not much different than long island... cheaper taxes though... and big hair.

yeah...a bronx boy in Oklahoma...not a pretty site! My brother lived in Iowa when he got married...they quickly made their way back to NY...HAHAHA
