Okay, originally we wanted to do St. Lucia, and its still in our budget to go to the Regency for 7 days, but for some reason i'm not as into that anymore.. So i've been speaking with Travel Tom and here are our ideas for the HM so far.
1. 9 Day Norweigan Cruise Line cruise to the Southern Carribbean and it leaves out of Miami. It goes to Samana, DR; Tortola, Antigua, Barbados, and St. Lucia. We are at sea three days. If we did this one we would also stay in Miami for 2 days after.
2. 14 Day Norweigan Cruise Line cruise to the same ports as above, but also going to Grand Cayman and Cozumel
If we did the 9 day, we would get the suite, but if we did the 14 day we would do a balcony.
3 Costa Rica- Stays 7 days at the AI Paradisus hotel in the garden room.
4.Barbados- 7 days at the Hilton oceanview. This is not AI, but is pretty cheap enough as to where is evens out.
I keep changing my mind! FH isn't much help because he says it doesnt matter to him. He just doesnt want to be laying on a beach all day long. Thanks for all your opinions.
I'm personally leaning towards the 14 day cruise, cuz i feel its the most for out money.

I voted for the 14-day cruise- I looove cruising- we are easily bored and with a cruise you see so much!

i voted for the 9 day cruise b/c i think 14 days is a looong time to be on a ship... we're doing a 7 day med cruise for ours; both of us agreed on that, then the rest of the time like 6 days we're going to bounce around italy.
plus I really like the sound of the cruise and a couple of days in miami afterwards! seems like a good balance

I just spoke to Tom and I asked him to seach for other Caribbean cruises as well as other places in Costa Rica. I think I'm really leaning to a cruise now.. My darn mind keeps changing. But he said he was able to on board credits and other extras for the norweigan cruise. But my concern is too, getting bored on the ship, especially for 14 days.

I would vote for Costa Rica, but if you are set on doing a cruise, i would go for the 14-day cruise.
I was just on the Jewel last month on a 7 day cruise and hit a couple of the islands that you mentioned. I didn't find Samana and Tortola to be that much fun in terms of the excursions so i would recommend going on the longer cruise so you can check out some other islands.
i've heard a lot of great things about Costa Rica!

that was our concern too. even 9-10 days were too many for us, which is why we are doing 7

I voted for the 14day cruise!! I know your concerned about the room being too small, but when we went on a cruise, we were HARDLY in the room. We had a pretty decent sized room with a balcony on the Carnival Legend and I never felt cramped..I actually couldn't believe how much closet space there was lolz. Plus, they have so much going on all the time on the boat so you aren't in your room all that much. I would love a 14day cruise..plus your going to some amazing islands!

Thanks. Actually after all the suggestions and talking with Tom, I looked at Princess again, and there is a 10 day cruise out of fort lauderdale that goes to the Bahamas, St. Kitts, St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, and Antigua, and we can stay in a Mini-Suite with our Budget. These freakin decisions!! FH is going to kill me!
