Where were you when the lights went out & what did you do all night?
I was getting my nails done, left without polish on, had candle light (not by choice) dinner with John, and then my neighbors & I had a 'candle' party outside out homes. We must have had the best smelling block in Queens with all my Yankee Candles lit!
Sad news is 3 of my fish died I am so sad

I was at work... didn't notice a thing because of all the generators here. But it took me an hour and a half to get home, and my FH didnt get home until about 8pm from the city. Sleeping was AWFUL... it was so hot & sticky! Our power came back on at 7am this morning.

Awwwwwww, poor fishies!
I was on my way to work. We closed when I got there so I went to my parents house b/c they lived closer and the roads were mayhem!
Poor DH and my Dad were at work in Manhattan and had to walk down 43 flights of stairs, then across the Brooklyn bridge (what an experience!) to get a ride halfway into LI. I picked them up at 10pm! I was a nervous wreck! Dad takes chemo pills for psoriatic arthritis, and Dh has rheumatoid arthritis. Poor guys!

I was at work...we left around 5:30 - took us 30 minutes (usually takes 20) because we took back roads, otherwise there was no traffic.
We went out for pizza and ate at home by candlelight. Passed out around 10:30'ish.
Good thing out apartment stays cool - we haven't needed a/c all summer - so it wasn't so bad for us.
I'm just stinky-no-shower-girl today. (ok, I don't really stink...)

i was at home. my fh had just came home for lunch and as soon as he walked out the door to go back to work, the lights went out. we had candles lit, searching the house for flash lights. we had a bbq outside for dinner. i could barely sleep because it was so hot. the lights in my house came on at 4:20 this morning.

I was walking out of Dunkin Donuts with a coolata in my hand. i had no idea what was going on. I just thought it was a block out in my neighborhood. I was so mad, no one would let you cross the street.
Then I got home and called people to see if they were effected. Then FH called me, to tell me JFK was out.
So the rest of the night I just relaxed. I have a light up pen so I was doing thank you's last night by candlelight and a light up pen
ETA: FH had to do mandatory OT last night. He didnt get home till 5am

I was in my living room watching the construction guys install my new front door. They couldn't finish without power tools so my door is installed but screwed shut. Thankfully I had all my a/c running full blast all day yesterday before the power went out and my house stayed pretty comfortable til it came back on. We cooked on the grill and then just hung out on the patio with the tiki torches lit. When the power came back on at 10:30 we watched TV to see what was going on.

I was at my desk at work on 18th and 6th. I walked over the 59th st bridge....and walked northern blvd all the way to Shea stadium and finally a cab picked us up...my feet and leggs are killing me. I just got power back. FI is still in the city...we couldnt find eachother.
I am really sad...i guess shaken up a bit.

I was at work. I had a client in my chair with a full head of highlights in my chair! She was really cool about it though. It took a little longer for her hair to be done but she was a great very understanding!
For the rest of the night I went to FH's house and went swimming. Then played cards with my family.

Sorry about your fish Jenn. Since I am in St Louis, I heard about it when my FI called me at work. I thought he was joking at first. I tried to get in contact with my father who works midtown. But then my brother called from NJ and let me know that my dad got a ride home from a co-workers. Hopefully he didn't get home too late! Glad to know you are all okay though!

we have a tiny power surge for 3 seconds & then everything was fine! power all night long! A/C & everything!
i feel terrible for everyone in the city! what a disaster! my brother didn't come home to LI- spent the night at a friend's apartment.
my BF was supposed to fly in from chicago last night. i haven't heard from her yet.

I was at work and we went to a friends' house to drink ourselves silly and one of the guys is a chef so he whipped up an awesome meal on the BBQ and we played Trivial Pursuit by candle light!!!
