Keep in mind that the kitchen is not finished so I just faked the backsplash and the granite (the stove will be in there too which has a black top) and there will be more molding, etc.. but you get the idea:
A red on the walls with copper paint on the ceilings:
A green on the walls with white on the ceiling:
Terracotta with a beigey coordinate on the ceiling:
Thanks cooky for trying. I would love to see it if you can get a better photo.
Alina, i think adding brown to pink makes it terracotta. Im not sure how i like the shade.
what about adding tan/taupe to red?
does that come out the same in the end...?

Re: Which color for kitchen?
I cant see the photo cooky.
I think if you add tan to red, the red just gets lighter. I dont know for sure but thats my guess.

Stef, I have been trying to resize it and everytime it takes forever and the system says network error. Don't know what the problem is. Well I will keep trying.

Cooky - can you email it to me (so you dont have to drive yourself crazy trying to resize)?

I don't think so You've been to Michele's, right? Look at her DR walls...that red doesn't appear 'lighter' with the tan above.

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Cooky: The wall looks white to me.
Claud: I dont mean painting the ceiling tan will make the red wall lighter. I mean adding tan paint to red paint only makes a slightly lighter shade of red.

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Oh Gosh no it is not white at all. Wish I can get a good picture becaues with the cherry dresser it looks really geat!! On the right side of the mirror the color is better but it is still not showing the richness of the color. Sorry Stef, If I find the swatch maybe I can scan it.

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Kitchen is almost finished. Woo-hoo!!
The moldings need to be stained, the glass doors need to be installed and it needs to be painted (still no clue on color).
But here it is:

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Very nice...I think you should go with a something lighten up the room. I don't know if its the lighting but the room looks very dark and gloomy in that pic. Then again is it just that you took the pic in the night?
Love that fridge.

Re: Which color for kitchen?
I took the photo with no flash so I could use my fisheye lens. The room has lot of natural light during the day and a lot of incandescent light from the big lamp in the middle, under cab lights, in cab lights and over cab lights.

It looks great Stef. How did you like your over the cab lighting? When I look at it, I see a goldish/yellow color for the walls, not sure why...

Re: Which color for kitchen?
oh ok b/c I know the last pic you posted the kitchen appeared nice and open and bright. I was wondering if the cabinets had darkened the room that much.
It looks great. :)

What a beautiful kitchen Stef. Don't know if I'm too late but I vote for the red too.

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Stef no matter what the color does not look as nice as it does on the wall with the cherry dresser. It is still a bit darker and richer then this:
See it looks almost white and it is far from it...hmmmm weird. Well have you decided on a color yet? The red is nicest but if the kitchen is small like you said it was you might want to go lighter,
