Keep in mind that the kitchen is not finished so I just faked the backsplash and the granite (the stove will be in there too which has a black top) and there will be more molding, etc.. but you get the idea:
A red on the walls with copper paint on the ceilings:
A green on the walls with white on the ceiling:
Terracotta with a beigey coordinate on the ceiling:
A rusty orange with white:

Re: Which color for kitchen?
I like the terracotta, but I am biased because I just painted my kitchen that color a few weeks ago and I LOVE IT!!!!!
I also like the green. I actually narrowed it down to a similar green and terracotta and decided to paint one of the spare bedrooms green instead of the kitchen.
How are you posting different options like that???

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Ok..the floors are down. Its all coming together but Im rethinking the dark color on the walls. I still love red but now Im leaning toward a taupe or a sage....or really any other color.
I dont plan on having any appliances 'out' ... i like clear counters when I can have them. I still havent found a table yet so I will start looking after the kitchen is done.
Anyone have any color sugegstions? The people who have painted terraacotta - can i see some photos?

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Marcellas kitchen is a yellow. Her kitchen is beautiful but that color will not work in my kitchen.
Sorry, no more pics. They are putting down the granite today so its almost all done :D There are still some small things that the jerks at cabinet supplier forgot and the lights have to go in and the glass has to be ordered, but its really close.
Hopefully will be 100% complete by the time i go on vacation.

Stef can you do a mock up of the kitchen with the taupe? That was what I was talking about with going neutral...I think you might wind up liking that more...

Re: Which color for kitchen?
I can but I need to find a shade I like. In my mind, I think a dark neutral will work but I cant find an actual color that i like. Its either too peach or too gray and I dont want either. I dont want white or anything that looks white so that rules out most of the light taupes.
is the red/copper out? I loved the warm feelign I got when I looked at it!!!

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Not definitely out but Im thinking maybe its too much of the dark. I still love the combination but I dont want it to be oppresive in there. On the other hand Im installing a huge jass overhead light along with undercab lights so it really shouldnt be that way no matter what...so torn.

Stef, is there a way to make the red more muted and lighter, so that its not pink/peach, but rather a lighter shade of deep red?

Re: Which color for kitchen?
I wish I could alina. I think the only way to make a deep red less dark is to make it pink

Re: Which color for kitchen?
What if you add a bit of brown to the red, and then make it lighter?

Stef I am going to see if I can take a picture of my bedroom. We have a Cherry dresser and taupe walls and it is a really nice taupe color...hmmm I wonder were I put the list of colors. Let me see if the pictures shows how pretty the color is.

Re: Which color for kitchen?
Stef I just took so many pictures and the color is not coming out right. I think because we don't have good lighting yet for the Bedroom. I will try in the morning when I have the daylight. The color is a really pretty color!! Looks great with the cherry. Sorry will try again tomorrow.

Thanks cooky for trying. I would love to see it if you can get a better photo.
