Hey ladies I'm having some trouble with my dress. My budget is $2000. I have not had that OMG THIS IS THE DRESS I'VE BEEN DREAMING OF MY WHOLE LIFE AND I CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT IT 'moment'. Did all of you experience this and i just have to keep looking?
Here are two dresses in the running:
The first one (Demetrios) I have to do work on. I want it to be a sweetheart top. ($800)
The second I think is a little too expensive for being such a simple dress. (its $1800) But its Vineyard from Pricilla of Boston so I know it's good quality.
Ummmm.... have you tried on other style of dresses??? I def. have the omg this is the dress feeling with my dress.... it was the 2nd one I tried on. I went to another place and just kept comparing every dress I tried on, to my 2nd dress lol! Well out of these 2, I would go with number 1 because its cheaper and number 2 looks really similar to number one and is really expensive (considering its a simple dress). Maybe you should def. keep looking around and maybe try on other styles or other dresses in this style.... you def. need to find THE DRESS that makes you feel gorgeous!!!

Re: Which dress???
I like the 2nd one better. Did you try on any Maggie dresses? I know she makes styles like that.

Re: Which dress???
I may be biased cuz I'm a Vineyard bride, but I LOVE your dress!!!! It's so beautiful, simple and elegant. I personally don't like the detailing on the first one, but I'm sure most will disagree with me. I chose a Vineyard dress because it was so simple, no embellishments, etc. Good luck!!!

Re: Which dress???
Honestly...and please don't shoot me...I can't picture you in either of those. *SIGH*
I would definitely keep going until you have that 'moment'. I kept going until I found mine and believe you me...it was HARD!!! But it's so worth it because it's GORGEOUS!!! Almost every Bride I've known has had that moment/feeling when they've just 'connected' with their dress (crazy I know). Those who haven't and have purchased their dresses anyway have always regretted it. This of course is based on those I know personally.

Re: Which dress???
This is my honest opinion, and flame me if you wish, but if you're very hippy, I would stay away from dresses like that. They're not going to be very flattering. Especially in your photgraphs. And if you haven't had that moment where you've really 'connected' with a dress, maybe you should keep looking.

Re: Which dress???
If you haven't got the dress moment don't settle you do not want to regret it. Have looked at Mori Lee gowns they have some nice selections for the style you want

Re: Which dress???
How many dresses have you tried on? And have they all been similar mermaid dresses?
sometimes the 'This is the dress' moment comes when you try on a style other than the one you want
You have some time to decide, so I say keep looking.

Re: Which dress???
If neither of these dresses have given you that 'this is the dress' moment, then in my opinion neither of these are your dresses. As cliche as it sounds, it really is true, when you find your dress you defintely KNOW it's your dress. Don't just settle, this is your wedding dress, you want to love your dress as much on your wedding day as you do the first time you try it on. good luck!

Re: Which dress???
If you like the 2nd dress, you should try some Marisa dresses. They are very similar and not as expensive. They don't have a lot of pictures of Marisa dresses online but they have them at Bridal Reflections and at Kleinfelds.

Re: Which dress???
Just a thought...you look really cute in your avatar picture. Would you consider something with little sleeves and an empire waist? I like the second better...the neckline is softer. Maybe go to a bridal store, and say what do you see me in? Try on something different.

Re: Which dress???
I think that the Priscilla of Boston dress is beautiful, but I agree that the $1800 price tag is steep for something that's on the simple side. I like the Demetrios as well. Have you tried any on yet? I am bugging out because I am going to Pronovias and Priscilla of Boston directly to look for a gown. I am wondering if I should just make an appointment at Kleinfelds but I just think the experience will be overwhelming! But they DO have everything.
My advice is keep looking. If a gown hasn't given you that 'wow' factor yet, maybe it just isn't the right one!
