Which invite are you afraid will ruin your wedding?

Which invite are you afraid will ruin your wedding?

Ok I know we all have that one family member that we have to invite because they are family but you are so afraid of how they will act at the wedding. I am just interested on who it is for everyone.

For me its my grandmother reason being is that she is a diabetic and at my cousins first birthday party she truly pulled out her kit and injected her insulin right there at the table where everyone was sitting. Need I say more?

Who is it for you and why?

Unfortunately, mine is my mom. She suffers from panic attacks and low self esteem. She drinks- a lot to help her with these issues! Frankly, she is an alcoholic who drinks at least one bottle of wine a day. Though she is not a angry or loud drunk, she tends to be overly affectionate and does fall from time to time. I do not have patience for her shennanigans when I do see her [which is not often since she lives in Georgia] but I will have even less tolerance on my wedding day. I hope that my DOC keeps her away from me when the time comes that she has had too much to drink.

My grandmother......she drank way too much at my sisters wedding.....she almost twirled herself into a window!!! YIKES!!!! One of my uncles had to get her under control.

I forgot to add my uncles wife which its so hard to call her an aunt since shes only 3 yrs older than me.....she got her new set of twins from B's to D's.....at my sisters shower she was wearing a very revealing shirt. I said to my mom can we put something just in their invitation about it being a formal function and nothing low cut.

FFIL - He's slightly crazy, half of his kids won't speak to him, the other half tolerate him. Thankfully his travelling circus (no lie!) will be in FL at the time of the wedding and he probably won't be able to come up. Although I have been hearing rumors that he is going to try

oh boy! I have a few! First FH's cousin who is a total screw up and drama queen!!! She loves to cause a scene! then FMIL! She is also a huge pain in the you know what and loves drama too! She got so angry that my mom made a beautiful toast and speech at my eparty that she kept making comments to me and her family! ugh! Also my cousin who just got married in a questionable manor to a very undesirable man will be there and everyone hates him! YUCK!
lol

ETA: I forgot to mention FFIL who FH hardly speaks to not to mention that FMIL whole family can't even tolerate, lol and FMIL goes out of her way to be a total A**h*** to and I know she will make a scene when she has to be in the same room with him!!!

Is your Mom my sister? I had forgotten about my sister's drunken habit of trying to make-out with the groom on his wedding day ...oh man - is it OK to not serve alcohol at a daytime wedding, if we can keep her sober she's good.

My FSIL... possibly my FMIL too. They have been picking fights with FH over who should be invited and trying to get him to take sides with them on a fight that happened between FSIL and FFIL 20 years ago and he refuses.... should be interesting..

OMG! This has been such a sore spot for me & FH!!

OK, there are 2- One is in the BP and is one of FH's childhood friends. The problem?? He's a stinkin 27 y.o. DRUNK!!!!! Just got pulled over for a DUI last month AND he's a teacher!! Nice example LOSER!! Anyway, I 've heard endless stories about him & his antics when he drinks. I've told him several times-I will not hesitate to hike up my Demetrios and kick his a$$ out of my reception!!

The other is a friend of FH's family who happens to be the town whore!! We weren't going to invite her then she called his sister all crying and upset that she didn't get a STD. FH spoke to his Grandmother (who raised him) and she was like you HAVE to invite her! I was so annoyed. Her problem is (and I've witnessed it first hand) is that she cannot stand when she doesn't have the spotlight. I already told FH-he better have a serious talk w/ his people!! Especially after all the blood, sweat & tears I've put into this wedding!!!

Whew... I feel better...

Ugh!! If my mom tries to makeout with my FH, there will be bloodshed!! No chance of not having alcohol at my wedding- though it wouldn't matter, mom would go to the liquor store herself and buy at least a case of wine!

I too have a couple of people that I wish that I didn't have to invite. One of those people is my cousin who tends to get drunk and nasty at almost every family occasion, I would also like to leave his wife off of my list, she has a habit ot starting arguements with everybody and then she has a couple of coktails and calls everyone sweety, go figure.

Well some of my friends like to have a REALLY good time and sometimes I worry that they'll be rowdy. At another friend's wedding, I can't tell you how many glasses were broken on the dance floor. I'm all for a good time, but I don't like sloppy. They were good at my e-party so hopefully we'll be okay.

My dad's brother's wife...she's not even his wife, but they've been together over 20 years. The brother is and on again off again alcoholic but usually controls himself, but his wife is a total mess and whack job. She's on of those people you can't help stare at in public--clown-like makeup and always on something. I swear I think she free-bases (or at least I've heard stories that she did). We got away with not inviting them to the e-party but I have to invite them to the wedding. They tend to be no-shows at a lot of things. That's two people I wouldn't mind paying for if they didn't come.
oooh...I sound harsh, but it sounds like a lot of you are in similar boats.

One particular couple who have a tendancy to drink a wee bit too much and then get way too loud.

My FFIL has an attention disorder and has a tendency to 'wander' off - we joke that he might wind up at another wedding and not realize it.

awwww your mom sounds like my biological mom but she is not coming because she is not invited ~ I am actually concerned about my brother (my biological mothers son) who i am contimplating sending an invitation... He is an alcoholic and he drinks until he does not know his name... plus his best friend whom we are inviting i am afrad of him coming because he drinks until he gets angry... and he is known for punching holes in the walls or fighting with people....

Re: Which invite are you afraid will ruin your wedding?

for me it was the Whore (aka my brother's now ex-GF)

she is a disgusting piece of ghetto trash--and there are not enough words for me to explain how much i have despised her from the moment i met her. it was their daughter that was the FG--so i was worried about them not bringing her in time for the ceremony. (they made it with 5 min. to spare!) and i was worried about what she would wear

she didn't disappoint--she had a dress that was of course too short and 2 sizes too small (that's her M.O.) she didn't keep her legs closed all nite and i had MANY MANY wedding guests come up to me and say 'wow, we got to see your brother's GF's crotch and p*ssy all nite!' to my horror, she caught the bo-k and once again, her legs were WIDE OPEN for the garter being put on her.

did i mention she got shiiiitfaced drunk ? yeah she rocked.

ETA: I forgot to mention my FFIL and his crackhead GF (no joke--she really is a crackhead)--thank GOD they opted not to come.

08 crashing! great topic & for me it will be my uncle's wife- she is a misery! on easter she came to our house & i was like hello aunt jill happy easter and she answered back- 'my cat is dead'

the cat had died over 2 weeks before and she has 18 others- its not the cat- she just has to always have everything be about her--- i dont know how she'll get through my wedding since its not about her at all.

hmm...I'm slighty worried about my sister... she likes to drink at parties and doesn't like to stop. So she could make the party a bunch of fun, or go a bit over the top and embarrass the crap out of me... but I think it will most likely be the first one.

Other than that I'm not too worried..we're not having a really formal wedding, and FH's family are just as much of country bumpkins as my family so it should be all good
