Who is paying for your big day

Just asking b/c FH and I are busting our butts off working two jobs to pay for our big day. I feel like others I know aren't in the same situation....

Are there others in the same boat???

we are paying for our wedding every single dollar.... Its so scary how much it costs.. and im having my wedding at home!!!

We're paying for everything ourselves.... except my parents are paying for the DJ and his parents are giving us about $1500 towards our Honeymoon (Our honeymoon is costing us $6,000 before we even get there then there's food/excursions/drinks to pay for when we're there). So all in all, we're paying for the everything ourselves with a TINY bit of help.

We were lucky enough to have our parents help out with our wedding, but for the most part, we paid for it ourselves.
When we first gt engaged we both had fantastic jobs, and were doing really well. After putting down about 15,000 in deposits (our RH needed 11,000 as our initial), we ended up both losing our jobs. Stressed is not even the word.

HOWEVER, it will all come together ladies, I promise!

The best way we found to save money was the following;
-we bought a fireproof safe.
-We had envelopes for everything (tips, payments etc.) in order of when they had to be paid.
-We stopped using our debit cards, and took out a cash allowance every week. If we ever had money left over, we would add it to an envelope. It was a great feeling everytime one filled up, and you could seal it and move to the next!
Next thing you know, we saved ALOT of money...

Not for everyone, but if it helps one couple who is stressed, Im happy

We are paying for it ourselves.. We have a 10month old son, so I am home taking care of him all day( its easier that way rather than pay for daycare) & FH is working 2 jobs!! my mom said as a present to me she will pay a portion of my dress...

we have two daughters I work full time and hub works full time... but we have a nanny we are paying for plus car note insurance and ughh the list continues also the fact that our guest list continues sucks that means our cost is getting higher as well...

again this is why 2013 will be perfect for us..

I know exactly how you feel!! its coming out to be more than what we thought & planned.. I'm sure in the end it will all be worth it but just thinking of the amount & time being put into it now is exhausting.. how old are your daughters? I couldn't imagine having to work on top of taking care of my son, the house, & wedding planning.

it's hard but we have a wonderful nanny.. my daughters are 6 and 19 months..and same here it is coming out to alot more than we thought but we are trying to take it all in and enjoying every moment of planning!!

FH and I are paying for everything ourselves for the exception that my parents that are paying for invitations, my gown, veil and cover most of our photo and video.

my fiance, on the other hand, thinks i'm being ridiculous and isn't worried at all.

my parents gave us the money up front and we paid them back with what we recieved as gifts...

We are paying for a good chunk of the wedding as well as our expensive honeymoon which combined is about how much an average smaller wedding in NY is. My parents are paying the largest % and FH's parents are giving us as a gift the e-party (which we had already) and a small RD.

ourselves....DF's family has no money at all. we won't even get a gift from them.

I have a feeling my father will give us a generous gift, but won't pay for anything as we go.

We are paying for most. Thank god my parents gave us a portion of the reception hall though!! We wouldn't be able to get married in November if they didn't!! I work two jobs, my second job goes directly into the 'wedding fund' If all goes as planned, I will have enough money on my own to pay for the entire thing.... fingers crossed!!

FH and I are paying for 90% of it. Mostly it's him because I work for peanuts.

We're getting some help from family. My sister is paying for flowers, his mom is paying for the Rabbi and will probably give us some cash, but the burden is on us. It's hard.

my parents are paying for the RH and some small things here and there. FH's parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner, DJ, and photographer. and FH and I are paying for the rest.

I had no idea so many were in the same situation. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one pulling out her hair during this happy beautiful time

we're very lucky my parents gave us a good amount for the wedding thats covered the RH and a few vendors so far. my grandfather bought me my gown as a gift and his parents gave us their timeshare points for a honeymoon. also his parents are paying for the rehearsal dinner. so whatever my parents budget doesnt cover were paying for. if it wasnt for my parents we probably would of eloped in vegas.

FH and I are paying from about 80% on our own.

My parents and FILs threw us a low budget engagement party together

My mom will do the shower

Grandma bought my gown/veil

FIL's will hopefully do the RD

My parents gave us a substantial amount of money which takes care of the band and the limos. Everything else is on us though - it's still a lot.

We are paying for our own wedding with help from my parents. Also my parents are taking care of my dress. But overall, we are paying for it.

FH and I are paying for the wedding...my mom bought my dress and is paying for the photographer....everything else is us and WE ARE STRESSING! Weddings add up SO QUICKLY! yikes hope we make it!
