Just asking b/c FH and I are busting our butts off working two jobs to pay for our big day. I feel like others I know aren't in the same situation....
Are there others in the same boat???

Wow I am surprised at how many people are paying themselves!!!
We are splitting almost everything down the middle with my parents. I think this is generous of them, however, FH thinks they should pay for EVERYTHING. He insists that it is their responsibility. I disagree with this!
So far we have been doing really well handling everything... we really have been working together to get everything paid for. I am proud of us!

We are blessed to have my parents paying for the reception. We are paying for many of the other items, however.

We are mostly relying on our tax returns to pay for a majority of the wedding. My parents stepped up and offered to pay for part of the reception after FH lost his job a few months ago. The rest is all on me.

good subject. I'm sure a lot of people are in the same boat. My in-laws gave us a nice chunk that will probably cover our honeymoon and my mom is paying for the RD and sunday brunch. The RH and everything else is sooo expensive but like everyone else we are working hard to pay for it. This board is a great place b/c a lot of people understand. That was pretty corny....

Wow, if he is that old fashioned, does that mean you get to stop working, and he pays for the house etc. as you are a stay at home wife?!?!

DH and I paid for pretty much everything.
FIL paid for the RH MIL paid for the honeymoon My mom did give us some money for the wedding which was helpful.

Oyy this thread just gave me a serious anxiety attack!! FH and I are paying our ourselves too! we are only a few months away and i still get scared we will be short!

Yes we are in the same boat FH and I are both working two jobs to pay for our wedding. I am so exhausted I work 7 days a week...

we are paying for the bulk.....we r paying for the hall which is gonna costs like $35,000
parents are paying for the big vendors (band, flowers, limo, harp, invitations, photography/video) it works out to $15,000 for each set of parents
$35,000 (me and fh) $15,000 (MOB and FOB) $15,000 (MOG and FOG) _________ $65,000 wedding AHHHHH
