Who is paying for your big day

Just asking b/c FH and I are busting our butts off working two jobs to pay for our big day. I feel like others I know aren't in the same situation....

Are there others in the same boat???

dont worry...im just like all of you....were paying for every single thing...we know if our parents had the extra they would give it to us but they dont....i agree i totaled all my vendors so far including the reception hall and pray we can pay for everything in time!

FH and I are paying for the wedding ourselves.

My mom did pay for my dress, accesories, and hair/makeup and FIL's paid for the Coach Bus for FH's family coming over from Europe. My dad has also been getting FH a lot of side work (which I know is my dad's way of helping out without actually saying so LOL).

we are paying for it ourselves- we are getting our honeymoon as a gift

To make it easier.. try to put away a portion every week. I don't even notice the chunk of change missing from my checking accont every week.

We're paying for ours. My mom bought my gown and my father gave me $2500 but he also invited 30 people so it's not really a 'help'

we have two daughters I work full time and hub works full time... but we have a nanny we are paying for plus car note insurance and ughh the list continues also the fact that our guest list continues sucks that means our cost is getting higher as well...

again this is why 2013 will be perfect for us..

I know exactly how you feel!! its coming out to be more than what we thought & planned.. I'm sure in the end it will all be worth it but just thinking of the amount & time being put into it now is exhausting.. how old are your daughters? I couldn't imagine having to work on top of taking care of my son, the house, & wedding planning.

I know how you feel, we are paying for everything too. I think I will be getting the flowers gifted from my parents. Thats about it...

FH & I are paying for the entire thing ourselves. My mom paid for my dress, veil, shoes and 1 add on we wanted.

Good thing is we don't really have to hear too much about anything we are doing because we are paying

thankfully my parents are paying for it ! We are extremely fortunate to have my parents willing to pay for it. I am a horrible spender/manager of my money, but i am slowly changing since i realized i needed to start saving for a house when i turned 1!!!

I cant imagine coming up with all that money in 2 years, so i give you all a lot of credit, and your day is going to be even more special since you all worked so hard for it

Me and FH are paying for EVERYTHING!! we have been saving up and dont have any 2nd jobs but i just graduated college, we have an 11 month old son and Im going to law school next year...PLUS we want to buy a house this year and are saving up for that too! LOL
the good thing is that I work at a mortgage company so I pretty much know what our goals and targets are in regards to home buying, but budgeting for the wedding is also a strict rule that i need to keep....I have realized that I can still be frugal and have a great day...Just need to plan, budget and be realistic....I just REALLY hope we can do it!!

My mom is paying for my half of the people at the wedding and my dress, FH's father is givng us $8,000 towards the wedding and my sister/brother in law are paying for the DJ as a gift. We are taing care of limos, flowers, photographer/videographer, invitations, honeymoon and his half of the people

Like most everyone else who posted a response. I am paying for the entire wedding and honeymoon myself minus my dress. My mom is paying for my dress (and I'm trying to convince her to pay for the veil and shoes... we shall see). I agree it is hard work. FH is still in school so the bill's on me! But I appreciate every aspect that goes into it so much more.

Your soooo not alone! We are paying for everything ourselves, and right now its VERY scary! My son is graduating from High School this year (and THAT bill is scary all by itself), and FH is looking for work (stinky economy). I know we will make it work as I am very good on budegting.

But I will say having to pay it all by yourself gives you power over those who want to have a say in it! I love saying 'If you want that you will have to come out of your pocket because it is not in out budget'...gets them everything!

Yea - I'm scared we will be short too...I don't know what we got ourselves into but I have to say I love how we are handeling the situation together and as a couple and think this was a great partnership and start into a strong marriage. I'm just like eeek I hope we have music and flowers....lol

We're very lucky because the only things we're paying for are the HM, videographer and church.

My parents are paying for the RH (my family, my friends, FH's friends), limos, DJ, photographer, flowers, invitations, my dress and our E-Party.

His parents are paying for the RH (FH's family).

We're definitely very lucky and appreciative of what our family is doing for us.
