Just asking b/c FH and I are busting our butts off working two jobs to pay for our big day. I feel like others I know aren't in the same situation....
Are there others in the same boat???

You’re not alone. FH and I are paying for our wedding and honeymoon ourselves too. The only exception is my mom bought my wedding gown, veil, and will probably buy my shoes too. Everything else is FH and I.
The positive out of it is now we only buy what we REALLY need since we’re so budgeted. Being used to this type of budgeting for 2 years has definitely prepared us to handle our money carefully when we are married, which is a good thing.

We are paying for pretty much everything except mom helped me pay for my gown and honeymoon is our wedding gift from them.

we are - and i'm all nervous that we might be short $ but FH doesn't seem to be worried - of course he's not...nothing bout the wedding worries him

LOL - You ladies all sounded a little like me in something you wrote.
Yea - I'm scared we will be short too...I don't know what we got ourselves into but I have to say I love how we are handeling the situation together and as a couple and think this was a great partnership and start into a strong marriage. I'm just like eeek I hope we have music and flowers....lol

we are paying for our own wedding also which is why we are doing it in 2013 just to be on the safe side.. but its good and bad.. I am HORRIBLE with money so this is teaching me how to budget and save on the other hand my guy is GREAT with saving so i have no worries there..
i want all these extras etc..so i guess we will see where our money is at the moment..

We are paying for it ourselves.. We have a 10month old son, so I am home taking care of him all day( its easier that way rather than pay for daycare) & FH is working 2 jobs!! my mom said as a present to me she will pay a portion of my dress...

we have two daughters I work full time and hub works full time... but we have a nanny we are paying for plus car note insurance and ughh the list continues also the fact that our guest list continues sucks that means our cost is getting higher as well...
again this is why 2013 will be perfect for us..

i am so nervous that we are going to be short and it's honestly stressing me out.
my fiance, on the other hand, thinks i'm being ridiculous and isn't worried at all.
maybe he hit the lotto and didn't tell me

I'm lucky that we are getting some help but we are paying for a lot of it ourselves. FMIL gave us enough $ to almost cover the RH My Dad gave me $ for my dress And FH thinks he's going to be able to talk his Dad into paying for our HM not sure how but that we'll see about.

Yuo are definitely not alone. FH and I are paying for our wedding by ourselves!
Definitely in the same boat. Although we have help with FH's parents paying for his side of the family (that's approx 140 people - b/c we can't do it), we are paying for EVERYTHING else - reception, church, rehearsal dinner, my shower, etc!
I am so stressed but glad to know I have company!

You're not alone! We are paying for everything so far (except RD)...
FH has 2 jobs; I have a FT job and run a business from home. We both feel overwhelmed sometimes but I'm finding a lot of DIY projects and THANK GOD every day for LIW - so many great tips and reco's for ways to save $ without cutting corners.

my parents paid for the hall so that was major, if it wasnt for them i wouldnt have had a wedding. they also payed for my dress. In laws paid for rehersal and invites. DH and I(well mostly I) paid for the rest. DH pays all the bills so i picked up the wedding bills

We aren't getting a dime! So, we are in the same boat as you. And, we are not getting a honeymoon. Instead, we're trying to get a home.

Not alone fh and I are paying. Budget budget budget. My second join one night a week waitresing I am putting that check to wedfing and most og the tips I am eben using lots of bsbysitting money. Its tuff too since fh is in college and he will be starting law school after we get married
