My mom is insisting on paying, but truth me told I think my BMs should pay....I paid for most of their showers (Not all of them). I dont think its fair for my mom to pay and I'm actually really annoyed by it. Am I being an unreasonable bridezilla?

my mom and my aunt are paying for mine. i think your age may also account for it. 3 of my brides maids are young and have no money including my moh .

my mom paid for my first bridal shower and she paid for my sister's bridal shower last year. i know she will pay for bridal shower this time around as well.
she paid for the restaurant itself and i paid for everything as (i was MOH)

My mother too. She is insisting. But truthfully, I have only been in one bridal party that I havent contributed hundreds of dollars to a shower. Last time I was MOH, it cost me almost a thousand dollars. Whats the etiquette on this? Or tradition?
I believe the tradition is the Mother of the Bride pays for the Shower Party and Groom's Parents pay for the Rehearsal Dinner. Bridesmaids pay for the bachelorette.

my mom is paying for the shower...my BMs are really not in any good financial situation to be paying for it...plus most of them are travelling out of country to come to my shower and wedding so i really cannot comlain! ;)

My parents are going to pay for my shower. I don't really think it's fair to assume that the BMs will pay for it... honestly, I have been in a few weddings and there is no way I would have been able to afford paying for their showers. We paid for things like favors, decorations, games, etc. Their parents paid for the actual shower.
Also don't forget that your BMs will be paying for your bachelorette party... and that definitely costs a lot of money!

Traditional etiquette states that no family member is supposed to pay for the shower. It is technically considered tacky because a shower is a party just to get gifts and should not be hosted by a member of the bride's family. It should be hosted by friends, which usually means the bridal party. That said, most of the time that flies out the window because weddings are expensive to be in and I know my mother paid for my entire shower.
Maybe your mother could put the girls in charge of a couple of things. Paying for the drinks, getting the cake or being in charge of the decorations. That way it doesn't seem like a lot, but it takes some of the work and expense from your mom.

mom, MOH, and myself. it will be at my house. i feel a little weird having all my friends and mother chipping in for a party just for me to get gifts.. i guess i shouldn't but i feel bad. im the first of my friends to get married, so i don't really know , and i dont think they know how it should go.

In every wedding I've been in as a bridesmaid, (except maybe one) I have paid for the bridal shower along with the bachelorette party and I have never really had a problem with it. I guess its different depending on if your parents can afford to pay for the bridal shower. I rather put the burden of paying for a 50+ person dinner on my BP then on my mom because splitting the bill 7 ways is better than splitting it one way!
My mom is helping me pay for other things like my dress, some decorations etc.
