I plan on having both my grandpa and step-dad walk me down. I'm not in contact with my father anymore, and my step-dad has been a better father than he ever was. And my grandpa has obviously known me since birth, so I thought it would be special to have him.
How did you ladies ask people to walk you down the aisle? Especially if they're not your dad and it's not expected?

Both my mom and dad are walking me down. As long as they/he/she are special - that's all that matters! :)

Same here. I think it's nice to have your Step Dad and or Grandfather walk you down the aisle- I am sure they would be honored.

my father is.. but im thinking of having my mother as well.. i grew up with pretty much just my mom all my life
however in the past few years especially with the wedding planning... my dad and i have formed a really nice relationship
they have been divorced since i was 1 y/o and it would be nice.. just for that moment to have both of them

Awww Dani, that sounds nice! You should def consider doing that!!
As for me, I am definitely having my father, but I would also like to have my mother, but I'm not sure if she would go for it--she is really traditional.

my dad
my parents are divorced and i didnt really grow up seeing my dad that often...but we're close now...so he's walking me down the aisle and my mom will be at the end of the aisle so that they both can 'give me away'.

I don't know... My parents are divorced and my dad isn't around. I may have my mom or maybe by myself.

Oddly enough when we met with Rev Deb she asked me if my Mom and Dad orjust my Dad were walking me down the aisle- and I didn't have an answer. I had never really thought about it.
