Who needs Etiquette? What are you doing that's 'against' the rules?

So I know there's a lot of dos and don'ts that we're supposed to follow, but is anyone saying. DAMN the rules, I'm doing this my way!
Okay, I'll go first:

Etiquette says: Send each adult over 18 a separate invitation.

Rai says: Damn that rule! If you're over 18 and live at home you're not getting a separate invite.

I think you are right. I really don't want to send two or three invitations to the same address.

Etiquette says: invite all children or none.

FH and I say: screw that, we're only inviting the children that we WANT at the wedding

I feel better now

YEAH!! Do what you want! That's another rule I'm breaking too. Close family kids are invited.

Yeah, I just don't get it. I know my relatives are gonna come anyways even if I don't send them a separate invite. I will just put their name on the inner envelopes with their parents.

I am definitely the #1 rule breaker.
Our champagne toast will also be a jello shot toast, not inviting single men/women with guests just for the hell of it. To expensive. Only getting invited with a guest if you are in a serious relationship, married or engaged and NO KIDS ALLOWED, except the 3 in the wedding party. I am sure there are more....

I'm going to see my groom before the ceremony so we can take beautiful pictures and I can enjoy my cocktail hour!!

You might of misunderstood. I am inviting single people just not with guests. I have friends that change boyfriends and I do not want them just to bring someone because of the guest thing. Do you know what I mean?

1. Not everyone over 18 is getting a seperate invite.

2. Also not inviting 'guest' for singles not in serious relationship/ or at least that I don't know.

3. There's a 3 hr. gap between church and CH(only time available)...but I'm not changing the church. FH has his heart set on it.

Wow this thread is liberating. Thanks

no way kids over 18 are getting their own invite!

etiquette says engrave your invites on ecru paper... i say yuck...

only inviting singles with guest who are in a serious relationship.

I just thought of something else. I'm going to address my invitationsby typing them on on my computer. I'm not paying for calligraphy or hand writing them. Like they are 'supposed' to be done. I don't have time for that! They just get thrown away anyway.

That felt good too.

Oh I understand. I'm doing the same thing. But I have a question, how do you do this on the invite? If we only put their name and don't write 'and guest' then they should know right?

I guess I am an etiqutte follower...lol.

I am doing all the things you all have stated you're not.

Not sure how much 'etiquet' I'm breaking, but here are mine:

I'm not getting walked down the aisle.

My dog is my ring-bearer.

No religion at all in the cermony.

My FH has seen everything I'm buying and wearing (just not seeing me before the ceremony)

1 invite per household.

No kids unless I invite them.

And that's my Bridezilla coming out of me

Edit: I am also printing labels out of the 'puter for the invites... and I'll make a 2nd set for my bridal shower invites too to make it a touch easier on my sis
