who pays for shower?

Ok so I was under the impression that the bridal party helps pay for the shower. Should they be expected to pay for the shower? Does the MOB help pay.
My sister is my MOH and wants to start planing but she asked me if she should ask my bridesmaids...

Everyone tell me what they think or did please........

I think my mom is chipping in but i'm guessing that its mostly my BP.....but again its not always standard like that...

At my MOH's bridal shower her mother INSISTED on paying for everything....she's 100% Italian so maybe that's why... Idk- my family is broke though since my mom got sick other wise I think my mom would have payed for most of it...amongst other things but what can u do

For my cousin's wedding the MOH and the BMs paid for the shower.
