Ok so I was under the impression that the bridal party helps pay for the shower. Should they be expected to pay for the shower? Does the MOB help pay. My sister is my MOH and wants to start planing but she asked me if she should ask my bridesmaids...
Everyone tell me what they think or did please........

This day in age you cant count on tradition anymore for a number of reasons.... In my case me and my MOH split the cost of my shower....
I have no regrets.

I just went to a shower on yesterday. MOB paid for location and decorations, we (bms ) paid for shower favors and planned the events and we all chipped in for a gift basket for the bride.

in my case, its such a big expense for my mother, moh and bridesmaids so im paying a good portion of it. my mother booked the place and is paying for but ive already bought the decorations. i plan on paying for the chair/wishing well/umbrella and some of the food. my moh is paying for the favors and FBIL and his girlfriend (their in the wedding party) are providing some food also.

I am so glad this came up. My mother and I got into an argument just yesterday about this because she said it was tacky for me to help throw my own shower. I told her to step into 2008

My mom is throwing it for me. I think it's an Italian thing for mom to do it, not the BP.

I am paying for my daughter's shower. I think the girls will do a couple of things as well, but I don't want them to have the financial burden. It is so expensive to be in someone's wedding now so I am happy I am able to do it! Note...I am not paying for the whole wedding...the bride and groom are paying for a large percent of it...so I am happy to help where I can, ex. shower, wedding dress and accessories and a sum of money toward the reception.

My friends are forever broke :( I am quite sure my mom and my aunt are helping pay for the shower. My FMIL offered to help, but I doubt my mom will let her. My BM are helping with small things I think, like maybe favors and invites, games, etc.
My mom wants my aunt to help her because they are close and my mom paid for her bridal shower, child's baptism party, etc.

my mom paid for the shower b/c there was no way my bridesmaids could affordthe 130 person bridal shower (100 came)/. Tradition is that the Bridal party pays and the MOB can help. It really depends on your situation.

possibly true....I don't really know--my mom, FMIL and MOH are planning together....my MOH told me planning stuff with my mom is just like planning stuff with me! haha....they have discussed amongst themselves, so I really don't know who's paying for what!

Any wedding party that I have beeb in, the bridal party has split the cost with the mother of the bride paying something too,
I am pretty sure that my mom will pay for most of it and the BM's will pay the rest
