Who pays for the gown?

Can you tell me who is paying for your wedding gown??
and how this came about?
If someone else is paying- did you ask? did they offer?

i guess ill just assume that i am paying for it unless someone surprises me because no one has offered

My mom is paying for my gown. It was one of her gifts.

My mom paid for my dress and veil. She told me before we went shopping she wanted to buy me my dress and veil.

I paid for my own; I wanted to pay for it myself. I'm the type of person who doesn't like to ask for anything if I can get it myself and I also didn't want my parents to get it because they are paying for half of the wedding.

My mom paid for my reception outfit, but only because she started to fight with me at the cash register and the owner sided with my mom in the argument. She thought I should let my mom pay because I'm the only daughter and if she wants to pay I should let her.

FH's mom offered to pay for my outfits (an Indian tradition) but I didn't want her to; I didn't want her to have a say in what I wore. And I wouldn't feel comfortable letting her pay for it when she's also paying for the other half of the wedding.

My grandma is paying for mine. It will be her gift to me. She paid for both my sisters.

my mom is paying for mine. years ago before i even met FH she said she would pay for my gown. but when i got engaged, she gave me a certain amount to spend on it, along with the veil, shoes, etc. i came in way under the budget, so she said she would pay for flowers too.

I expected to pay for my gown, but mom stepped in and gave it to me as a gift separate from the money they gave us for towards the venue. I am paying for alterations and accessories.

I paid for it...and I just want to say to the girls who had parent(s) pay for theirs....that is SO sweet. I was really moved and hope to do this for my daughter someday.

My aunt is paying for my dress. My mom passed away 13 years ago and my aunt said she was paying for my dress for my mom who would have paid for it had she still been with us.


My mom also passed away 8 years ago and my Grandma is buying my dress.

My mom is paying (at least the deposit -abt 50% of the gown) We went looking and I thought I would be paying, I never asked so my FH and I budgeted for it --> It was not expensive at all
