Who's seeing their groom before the ceremony??? - Long Island Weddings

My FH & I are doing the reveal before the ceremony. Our ceremony doesn't start til 6:30 & the idea of taking pictures after the ceremony didn't make sense. I've been a part of a lot of weddings where the bridal party came late or miss the cocktail hour because we took pictures after the ceremony. Besides it saves my FH & I time & money when we do the reveal. :)

Who's seeing their groom before the ceremony??? - Long Island Weddings

Sighs I want to do this sooooo bad but my mom is pissing me off. Everytime I tell her about a first look she tells me absolutely NOT happening. It's really annoying me to the max... My ceremony won't start until 6 as well.

Who's seeing their groom before the ceremony??? - Long Island Weddings

I think I want to do this. I like the idea of first look photos. I like the idea of the moment being just us (and the photog ;) )

Who's seeing their groom before the ceremony??? - Long Island Weddings

We are planning on doing a first look earlier in the day before the ceremony. That way we can get our pictures done before the ceremony and can attend cocktail hour. It will still be special because we will have the pictures of the first look

Who's seeing their groom before the ceremony??? - Long Island Weddings

We are definitely doing a first look. I love the romance of a private moment together as opposed to all eyes on us the first time we see each other. Plus we want to enjoy the cocktail hour with our guests for the most part. Get all of the formal pictures out of the way first so we can have all candids after the ceremony.

do what you two want. everyone will have their opinion.

i personally am not. theres something about seeing him for the first time as im walking toward him that i cannot wait for!!! i love seeing a bride for the first time when she comes down the aisle too.

but i know plenty of people who did pictures first and it was good for them.

Who's seeing their groom before the ceremony??? - Long Island Weddings

Hoping to be traditional, but it depends on how we get him to the church, if he has to stay at the hotel instead of home, we may have our pic taken on either side of the door without peeking, so close and yet so far.

I am waiting to see him first when walking down the aisle. A lot of our friends are suggesting we see each other before so we can enjoy the cocktail hour, however with the bridal party consisting only of 2 and 2 who knows we may actually be able to do both. For me that is part of our wedding I really would like to be traditional.

We are getting married in church so no first look. I am so excited to walk down to him for the first time! I'm not wearing a blusher though - felt claustrophobic haha

This depends on how your day is planned.. if I was getting married early in the day and the reception wasn't until night time, I would probably wait until after the ceremony to take pictures. Because my ceremony is at 630, and cocktail hour into reception immediately following, we are doing a 'reveal'

I think it has the same feeling- either way you're seeing each other for the first time- its the couple who makes it special! Go for it :)
