who's not registering for fine china?

is anyone out there not registering for fine china??? i'm on the fence about it.

if you aren't registering for fine china, what type of plates and whatnot are you getting?

I'm not registering for it. We live in an apartment, and don't really have use for them, nor the space. We bought plates when we bought our apartment from Pier 1, and absolutely love them for everyday use + when we have company over.

i registered for fine china and every day china. You could just do the everyday china if you want.

Not buying china...we would never have the use for it

I'm not. I don't have the space and I won't use it. My mom has her grandmother's set that she doesn't even use. If I want fine china, I'll take that, if I ever have a house. I'm a Corell girl for now.

Im not. I'm in an apartment right now and I just see no use for it. If I'm throwing a party it involves football or I'm out with the atty at my job for happy hour. So it would just collect dust

I'm not.... I'd never use it so what's the point?

I didn't register for fine china. We just don't have the room for it or the use for it. Brands like Colorwave are a step up from casual dishware.

When I was born my maternal grandparents wanted to make sure that they bought me China (just in case they didn't make it to my wedding...which both have passed). My poppa liked one style and my nanny liked another so I actually have 2 sets of China of which I don't know if I'll ever use...I'm a klutz and so afraid I'm going to break them! LOL

I'm not registering for fine china ... after FH registered for a 52' TV (jokingly, of course) and a BBQ grill, I couldn't bear to ask for a single plate at $52+ ... I just registered at Target and BBB for some of the nice looking plate sets.

I'm not either!

I didn't register for China. I went with plain white dishes from Crate & Barrel - some might say boring but I like a clean look and you can spruce them up with colored linens and stuff.

I got overwhelmed looking at Fine China and nothing really excited me. My mom offered to buy it for me but I couldn't see spending that much money for something I couldn't really care about it. But to each their own! It's your registry, your 'wish list!'

I did, because my mom ended up getting me a set of eight place settings for about 200 bucks, on sale. Otherwise, I was worried about how much it would cost my guests for something I would use only rarely!

Eh, we're not totally into the idea. In fact, we think it's kinda pointless. We don't like entertaining guests and the whole fine china idea is more something my Mom feels like we 'need'.

Personally, I think we need fine china like we need a hole in the head. Nevertheless, we haven't 100% nixed the idea...it's something that is nice to have, i suppose, but let's face it, none of your guests, other than your parents or your FILs would ever buy you china, and there are soooo many other things from our registry that we'd rather have.

Not to mention we've only registered at one of our two registries, so who knows what the second will bring!

we're not registering for fine china. we registered for just a plain white set with serving platters etc and will use those when we have company or an affair. we figured it would go with any decor for a particular holiday!

I'm not. We don't have enough cabinet space!

We have plain white dishes right now which work great. I love that we don't have to worry about a pattern being discontinued and if we see something we like we know it will match!
