Why are city schools open today?

Just like the private schools are closed the same thing should have gone for the city schools. I know the private schools are not city owned but still....

Bloomberg is a heartless *******! DH is a teacher and he had to leave at 5:30 am while it was still snowing heavily and drive to school.... I feel bad for all teachers and the students that had to go to school today....thanks mayor... you may be smart when it comes to business but when it comes to common sense, you are a moron!

Thanks Jen. My DH works in a mental health facility as well, I appreciate how difficult it can be
(Although he does not work directly with patients)

I think you're being way too dramatic about all of this. Just because there were people that didn't agree with your opinion and they expressed how they felt does not mean that they were ATTACKING you. Everybody's entitled to their own opinions.

This thread is making me nauseas. I'm not a teacher and I deal with b s all day long, and deal with alot of azzholes. I bring work home at night. Do you hear me complaining? So whats the problem?

P.s. My fw is a special education teacher,and I give her and all the rest that are teachers alot of respect. But to say teachers have the hardest jobs. Thats just not right to say. Everybody's jobs are difficult in their own ways. This is just my opinion.

Yes, you were saying your opinion and whenever somebody didn't agree with your opinion, you got very upset. It's not that your opinion doesn't count, you just shouldn't expect everybody to agree with you.
